Does there exist a daily national sports page I could order for my mom? She has Alzheimer’s and wants to read her morning paper. She likes to read random sentences out of articles to me. Before she was affected, she would read a bit of something interesting to whoever was around, and it was nice and started good deep conversations she is no longer capable of. She was a brilliant conservative too so she knew which articles were ripe for mocking.
Now she reads the front page of the LA Times as if anything in there is even true. And reads me things like “Donald Trump is a living devil” or whatever garbage they print. So I tell her she can only read aloud from the sports page. Sigh.
I agree, but also think that the leftard media complex conspired to use the manipulated poll numbers to depress and demoralize our side. If they'd had a candidate who was worth a damn, it might even have worked. If we'd fielded anyone other than Trump, it definitely would have.
And it wasn't just the polling they manipulated. They threw the very last shreds of their journalistic credibility into the trash, and became the de facto communications wing of the Clinton campaign. Collectively, they created a picture of the presidential race that only existed in a parallel universe.
Fully half of the country swallowed that codswallop without even blinking. Is it any wonder they went into convulsions after she lost? Like their entire worldview, their confidence in Hillary, and her chances of winning, were based on nothing but smoke and mirrors.
That's the problem. Subscriptions/street sales should cover the cost of distribution. The advertising should cover the costs of actually producing the paper and and providing a profit. Cut the price to 25 cents daily/$1 Sunday, and I'd probably start buying it again. But they haven't been able to get by on ad revenue since the advertisers caught them cooking the books on circulation.
And now they've put the online edition behind a paywall, which should dry up the online ads. (And they went with a front page style that I've seen with other failing papers - the same headlines are repeated over and over again on the page to make it look like they have more content than they do).
Last I read, the DMN was trying to shop itself to Gannett. Not sure how that is working out for them.
Who needs the Dallas Morning Spew when you can get the truth from Fox?
Plus a little eye candy...
