Actor DiCaprio says climate action is U.S.'s 'biggest economic opportunity'

By Megan Rowling Reuters December 17, 2016

NEW YORK (Thomson Reuters Foundation) - Tackling climate change is the "biggest economic opportunity" in the history of the United States, no matter who holds political office, said Hollywood star and environmental activist Leonardo DiCaprio.

"There are a few, very prominent people that still deny the overwhelming conclusions of the world's scientists that climate change is largely human-caused and needs immediate urgent attention," he told a U.N. awards ceremony on Friday evening.

But "the truth" about climate change has spread like "wildfire", he added.

DiCaprio's comments, as he received a prize for his work as a global citizen, did not refer to U.S. President-elect Donald Trump by name but were a thinly-veiled reference to his views and climate-skeptic cabinet members with oil industry ties.

Hey Leo. why don't you list all of those "climate scientists" that all agree that man is killing the planet.

It's not that big of a list, considering that 97% concensus crap came from only 76 self-proclaimed “experts” out of the thousands of actual scientists in the world

He apparently thinks real life is the same thing as acting since he’s always putting on a show.

It’s certainly a bonanza for all the ‘scientists’ grabbing fat government grants to generate yet more bogus ‘studies.’

The opinion of a high school dropout who later got a GED.
Why would anyone list to this fool.

Economic boom for... GE, Vestas, Siemans, Berkshire Hathaway, government bureaucrats, and every other crony who stands to make trillions off the backs of taxpayers who are forced to pay for “saving” the climate.

The opportunity is right their for ya, Leo. You just have to reach out with your stubby little communist fingers and embrace the free market. Maybe you and Matt Damon can get together and figure it out over a game of scrabble. Here, let me get you two geniuses started with a few letters.

D-U-M-B-A-S-S bonus letters: D-I-C-K-W-E-A-S-E-L

See if you can make some words out of that and get back to me, OK?

“overwhelming conclusions of the world’s scientists that climate change is largely human-caused and needs immediate urgent attention,”

good gawd, what a maroon. According to this idiot, the massive solar and internal thermal forces that have created enormous upheaval on our planet for 4 billion years have now suddenly ceased and been replaced with an even MORE massive force: HUMANS! AND these new HUMAN forces are SO gigantic that they need IMMEDIATE URGENT attention!

Aaaaah! The stupidity, it burns!!!

I don't understand why a conservative site provides such a grand platform for these stories , such as this leftist Hollywood play actor. These people are nothing. They're play actors for cripes sake.

High school dropouts should not lecture thinking people on alleged "climate change" or economics.

DiCaprio honest-to-god has bought himself a tropical island which he is developing into a luxury ecology-tourist resort.

Just the kind if multimillion dollar investment you’d make if you were worried about rising sea levels inundating tropical islands, right?

GED.

It isn’t a question of education level so much as the cultivation of values.

Dennis Prager claims to have had deeper conversations with truck drivers on his radio program than with a lot of PhDs.
