How the heck did the Trump team pick this weasel as a presidential elector pledged to the GOP ticket? Was there no vetting at all?
Campaigns always pick a set of alternate electors that fill in when an elector dies, resigns or is declared ineligible; already, one of the Texas electors was replaced when he expressed that he could not vote for Trump and resigned as an elector. That POS Suprun should resign and let one of the alternate electors cast the vote for the presidential ticket to which he was pledged to cast, and if he doesn’t resign the campaign should find a way to disqualify him. I am a strong supporter of the Electoral College, and believe that electors should be allowed to cast votes for other persons if something extraordinary occurs (e.g., the candidate dies, or is discovered not to meet the constitutional qualifications for office), but it’s far too late for a Trump-Pence presidential elector to claim that he can’t vote for the ticket.
Do the campaigns make the choices? I would have figured the state parties did, independently, if that’s normally true it’s more likely to have happened this year. Either way, obvious lack of proper vetting. There was a guy from WV, I forgot if it was ‘00 or ‘04 but he didn’t wanna vote for Bush, in the end he did.
One (other) nut in Texas who was going off about “biblical” qualifications has done the right thing and quit.
Still no signs of other jerks, besides Supran.
Colorado Judge orders 2 Shillery electors who sued to vote for her. Thoughts?
Rep-elect Che-Porter in NH is an elector, I guess that’s allowed as she’s not *currently* in Congress but I don’t like it. She’ll be there while the votes are counted.
