C.I.A. Judgment on Russia Built on Swell of Evidence (Slimes doubles-down on fake news)
The New York Slimes ^ | 2016-12-11 | Mark Mazzetti and Eric Lichtblau

WASHINGTON — American spy and law enforcement agencies were united in the belief, in the weeks before the presidential election, that the Russian government had deployed computer hackers to sow chaos during the campaign. But they had conflicting views about the specific goals of the subterfuge.

Last week, Central Intelligence Agency officials presented lawmakers with a stunning new judgment that upended the debate: Russia, they said, had intervened with the primary aim of helping make Donald J. Trump president.

The C.I.A.’s conclusion does not appear to be the product of specific new intelligence obtained since the election, several American officials, including some who had read the agency’s briefing, said on Sunday. Rather, it was an analysis of what many believe is overwhelming circumstantial evidence — evidence that others feel does not support firm judgments — that the Russians put a thumb on the scale for Mr. Trump, and got their desired outcome.

It is unclear why the C.I.A. did not produce this formal assessment before the election, although several officials said that parts of it had been made available to President Obama in the presidential daily briefing in the weeks before the vote. But the conclusion that Moscow ran an operation to help install the next president is one of the most consequential analyses by American spy agencies in years.

It’s exhausting to dissect all the misdirection in this article. No new evidence. Circumstantial evidence. Russians “got their desired result” as if they controlled the American voter. It’s obviously political bs.

So if 0bama had this info before the election, why didn’t he release it? 0bama could have leaked to anyone he wanted. So does the NYT think that 0bama was covering for Trump?

LOL! What BS fake news!

Bunk. What we have is only is the speculation of agencies controlled by an administration which supported the losing candidate. There is no proof that has come forward to implicate Russia in the Wikileaks disclosures.

None. This is nothing but an agenda-driven administration spinning yarns.

Thereby explaining why nobody had seen it until after the election.

Here is some recent information on Craig Murray, regarding post #13 above.

U.S. Denies Entry to Former British Ambassador Craig Murray, Sept 2016

Thought is Dangerous to the USA
https://www.craigmurray.org.uk/archives/2016/09/thought-dangerous-usa/

I have been refused entry clearance to the USA to chair the presentation of the Sam Adams Award to CIA torture whistleblower John Kiriakou and to speak at the World Beyond War conference in Washington DC. Like millions of British passport holders I have frequently visited the USA before and never been refused entry clearance under the visa waiver programme.

“This is a Coup attempt. make no mistake about it.”

It is.

And their rhetoric is that Trump is taking over via a coup which provides their justification.

I actually, though, think they have no traction and it won’t even reach the level where it fizzles.

And why would these same people who didn’t believe the CIA about Iraq and WMD now believe them?

Stalinists lie. Always

This is a coordinated coup attempt that people need to come to grips with. What makes this credible, is there is a faction within the GOP that would eagerly go along with this. McCain is exhibit A.

Note this sentence in the NYT piece

But the conclusion that Moscow ran an operation to help install the next president is one of the most consequential analyses by American spy agencies in years.

This wording is not accidental. If they are allowed to take this down the road of Trump is "installed" by a foreign power, they are giving moral license to GOPe electors to betray the voters. This has begun to concern me greatly.

Yes, it is. The CIA is treating this country like a banana republic. This is a classic dirty CIA op.

It’s like a peeping tom discovering a massive money laundering/drug/child sex ring, and alerting the authorities. They want to lock up the hapless perv for seeing what wasn’t meant to be seen.

The left are trying to implicate Trump in working with a foreign country to affect the election. That would be a serious crime.
They have their goal to postpone the Inauguration so that an investigation to clear up these serious charges can be done.
That is their current strategy to keep Trump out.
As far as this piffle. What does the Muslim CIA chief say? Did he go on record?
And why would these same people who didn’t believe the CIA about Iraq and WMD now believe them?

The goal is more immediate. It is to turn the electors. Once they vote, it over...essentially.

I have become increasingly concerned. Mainly because I do not trust the GOP to put this coup down.

overwhelming circumstantial evidence Wow. No words for this garbage.

Fake in a court of law, or in a newspaper.

Yeah, Russia would really want Trump as president over a confirmed sociopathic grifter that they could buy off at will.

They are playing a game that will end up only one way with themselves getting destroyed. They have no idea on how vast and committed are the forces that oppose them.

It won’t be the GOP that puts this down. But it will be put down and with extreme prejudice.

Circumstantial evidence? That wouldn’t pass muster in a court of law.

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence.

The New York Times has yet to provide it.

How obvious can you get with the fake news? Are there no adults left in the intelligence agencies?

I think the most profound and lasting conclusion in all this—that the aggregation of intellect at the CIA is subpar—is not in response to any recent decline in quality at the agency. Instead, the truth is probably more like the CIA was never as good as its PR image fabricated a half century ago.
