One of the best articles I have read in a long time. Concise and illustrates many of the best examples. I would have added another angle on this with a couple of examples.
#1 - the failure of the media to excoriate and/or investigate Benghazi. From the fake video to the facts about what occurred the media lied, covered, and granted a pass to the administration. Contrast this with the hysterical reactions to bad things that happened under the Bush administration.
#2 - The continuing lie of “no WMD in Iraq.” There were WMD there and this occurred at the same time our soldiers were being hit with IED’s using Iraq’s massive stockpile of artillery shells (to include chemical shells). The military chose not to announce this for the safety of our troops, but it is time for the truth to be told. Furthermore, they ignored the string of convoys headed into Syria from Iraq prior to the invasion. This one still makes me angry to this day. Furthermore, the media regularly proclaim that the Bush administration lied about the intelligence. They did not. Everyone, and I mean everyone, to include the Russians, Israelis, British, French, Germans, and the UN investigators said they were there.
Do these constitute “fake news?” I think they do. How about a comparison of the Scooter Libby fiasco with Hillary’s criminal acts with classified information? Perhaps they are too busy getting their marching orders from the DNC and Clinton campaign.
We didn't send our boys into Iraq because of left over weapons from Iraq/Iran war. The supposed threat was for new weapons that threatened US. Secondly, if the military was concerned for our safety, then they would have handled the medical care for our boys better concerning the use of bio-hazards on our men. They don't give a rats ass and good men still suffer.
Yes.
And even if one accepts the “later edition” explanation, the later will be a de facto edition in a different area due to the dynamics of when people buy or receive papers.
Snopes uses the “mostly false” term, which makes no real sense, to say things are false that are in fact true.
They cannot deny facts, so they will try to paint it as false based on subjective aspects or opinion.
Here specifically the real question is a factual one - were there two editions with different captions to the same photo?
The answer is yes, so it is not “mostly false”, it is 100% true.
They pronounce it “mostly false” based on unfalsifiable and unprovable claims about what is intended.
The biggest “fake news” (that just cost them the White House) was the faux recovery/unemployment < 5% BS. The truth had become impossible to conceal; I was shocked it didn’t cost Obama his job in 2012.
Most black people think Abraham Lincoln was a democrat and IF THEY KNOW THE NAME GEORGE WALLACE, think he was a republican. There is an endless supply of people who are very ignorant but imagine that they know the answer to everything. They probably imagine that all those who died trying to get from Cuba to Florida were just trying to export the wonderful Cuban medical care to America.

I forgot about Wallace (I grew up in Alabama). The left’s ability to turn the tables on race demonstrates the power of controlling information.
Silly me, I thought since Shillery lost I wouldn’t have to hear her shrill whining on tv anymore.
Pitiful, just plumb pitiful. They cannot be that ignorant by accident, it is WILLFUL ignorance.
Who do you mean?
I mean people who believe, or PRETEND to believe that Abraham Lincoln was a democrat.
It goes way back, leftist fake news. The Chevrolet Corvair being “unsafe at any speed” springs to mind. Before that, there was the shameful smearing of Barry Goldwater. It’s been a constant stream for as long as there has been television and likely before even that. Television and radio news have long been controlled by the left, but were better able to conceal that fact in the past. No more.
It was the college administration that put up the plaque. For sure they knew. When they were called on it they claimed that all they mean is that Lincoln believed in Democracy and not that he was a member of the Democrat party.
These people are evil.
