Hi! Congratulations to your daughter on her successful completion of the vet. tech. exam. Maybe some day you’ll come on here and introduce a brand spanking new doctor to us! Good luck to daughter of Chef lysie!
FWIW- My son could not stand school, therefore- he did not apply himself, although he was quite capable. College was out of the question. He chose to go to work. First a paper route, which he actually did for 3 years during junior high school, and high school, then he sacked groceries and rounded up grocery carts, and finally, landed a job at a corrugated box factory. He has been there for over 15 years, and received a number of promotions of one sort or another.
Would I have liked him to go on to higher education and land a job more in line with his desires, where he could flourish and earn an equitable wage or salary for the discipline chosen? Yes.
While he didn’t choose to go on to college, I take great pride in the fact that he gets his butt to work- every day, and is a good human being and a productive member of society. I influenced him as best I could, and appreciate greatly the work ethic that was bestowed on him in the 3 years he delivered newspapers, seven days a week, 52 weeks a year, rising at 5 AM on Sat’s and Sun’s, rain or shine- and gittin’ er’ dun’! Of note- Sundays; the kids had to deliver the big city newspaper that was about the size and weight of a 2 liter soft drink bottle. My kid had 84 customers. It took 5 stuffed newspaper bags to get the papers delivered.
Ol’ dad got some time in the saddle helping sonny boy on a number of those days slinging papers!
That’s a lot of words... to say this-
Great job mom! Great job dad!
You should be ELATED your son didn’t go the university route these institutions are corrupting our kids today, your son is a VERY HARD working member of society and he DOESN’T NEED a therapy dog and a SAFE ZONE!!! There is NOTHING WRONG with working your way up through life with a strong work ethic!!! MANY, MANY, of these university grads think they should be CEO’s out of the gate and the work ethic out there today IS ATROCISE!!!! I personally believe many of these kids would be better off in trade schools where when they come out they can’t start their own small business!!! Heating and refrigeration is ALWAYS a HUGE need for PEOPLE and they make GREAT MONEY!!! Plumbers make GREAT money but it is dirty work, auto repair is another GREAT money maker these kids today are just not motivated enough to want their own businesses!!!
Yes. Mama is very relieved. I knew she could do it.
I remember when she was away to college she would email me saying she failed tests. Then after the grades were in she emailed telling me she passed them with low 90 grades. Ha!
I did a lot of hair-pulling those years she was away. LOL
I bet your son is proud of his work ethics, too.
