Somebody ought to dig some dirt on John Harvard.... Ah, that is the rub, as put by the Bard. Once you open this can, it becomes unmanageable. Surely "William and Mary" (permitted slavery) should be renamed and next you find that even the place-named schools can be associated with something odious. After all the 'Battle of Princeton' should force that renaming (guns and death and Christmas!) The idiocracy potential is unlimited!
I had an interesting mail exchange with the late Conservative writer & incisive journalist, James Jackson Kilpatrick, in the late 1950s, in which he expressed an opinion to the effect, that it was becoming virtually impossible to actually satirize the accelerating demands of the Left in what was euphemistically referred to as the "Civil Rights Movement," in that era. The demands were accelerating so rapidly!
