Please note that what Carrier was going to move was a furnace plant, not an a/c plant. I am not sure where they manufacture a/c units.

Thanks, me neither...comments are as true for furnaces and seems that Indianapolis has both.

"United Technologies said it would close its Carrier air conditioning and heating plant in Indianapolis and move its manufacturing to Mexico. The plant's workers would have been laid off over three years starting in 2017."

I found this much on Wikipedia:
Carrier has U.S. manufacturing facilities in Indianapolis, Indiana, for residential and commercial furnaces and air handlers; Collierville, Tennessee, for residential condensing units and heat pumps; Tyler, Texas, for residential package units and commercial condensing and package units; Monterrey, Mexico for evaporator coils; and Charlotte, North Carolina, for accessories and chillers.
