MORRIS TOWNSHIP -- A few people in the crowd wore familiar-looking red baseball caps with white lettering. But no, unlike the ones sported by Donald Trump supporters, they didn't read, "Make America Great Again."
Instead, the hats read, "Steve Rogers for Governor."
Rogers, a township commissioner in Nutley, has formally joined the ever-growing race to succeed Chris Christie as New Jersey's governor, kicking off his campaign for the Republican nomination with a Trump-like message Thursday.

I read something about Trump not being impressed that Christie let two underlings take the fall for Bridgegate. Can’t tell you if it’s true or not.

I think another factor was from what happened on Election Night. As the Trump family and entourage were on the stage for his victory speech, Chris Christie was practically shoving people out of his way to get closer to Trump so that he could get into the same camera shots with him.
The Star-Ledger/NJ.com is so liberal. It’s like the NY Times.
Re: Christie falling out of favor, I think Trump also didn’t like the quality / talent of people Christie was recommending as part of transition efforts, as well as the incessant politicking......
I see now that Christie not a lock for GOP chair.
Christie won’t be RNC Chair.
He got to know him personally and his "judgement of character" senses went haywire....
