I live about 40 miles from this incident. It was on the news here just after it happened, and while students were still on the campus.

FIRST of all-—the kid had 2 knives—long knives—more like machetes. He was behaving erratic. I don’t know why the surrounding students didn’t try to get out of the area—but they seemed fascinated by the goings on.

The cop needed to STOP this student & keep him from harming anyone else. I didn’t hear one way of the other if a Taser was involved, but he kid was out of control.

For all the Monday Morning Quarterbacks everywhere—keep in mind that trying to stop/secure a person who might be on drugs isn’t an easy call.

I don't know why the cops, or someone in authority at the school, didn't order the students to leave the area.

Re: “person on drugs...not an easy call.”
My husband tells of fighting in “Nam” where the Cong received numerous hits and still kept coming because they were so drugged up.
Very scary stuff!

Uppermost in their minds was to get selfies of the before and after. Nevermind they could have been stabled or shot. Morons.

Ha, the cops are taking their phones. Bet a few crimes will be solved. Oops, that's what happens when they record everything.
