Ukraine's Antonov aircraft maker suggested US President-elect Donald Trump should order Air Force One from Ukraine, a message on the official Twitter page of the company said, TASS reports.
"Maybe it would be better to consider an Antonov aircraft as Air Force One?" the tweet said.
The state-run Antonov aircraft building plant is Ukraine's only developer and manufacturer of cargo and passenger aircraft. The company is best known for such aircraft as AN-32, AN-148, AN-158, AN-74, AN-124, AN-70 and AN-225. The company did not specify which aircraft exactly they would like to propose to the new President of the United States.
Noteworthy, Ukrainian President Pedro Poroshenko flies an AN-148 as the presidential airliner that he chose in early 2015.
In 2016, however, the company has not produced one single aircraft. The company plans to hold an official ceremony to unveil the new AN-132 cargo aircraft in December.
Donald Trump urged Boeing to cancel the construction of the new presidential plane due to the high cost of the aircraft.
"Boeing is building a brand new 747 Air Force One for future presidents, but costs are out of control, more than $4 billion. Cancel order!" Trump said on Twitter.
However, White House spokesman Earnest said that Donald Trump's tweet was inaccurate. Boeing representatives said that the costs for the development of Air Force One would make up $170 million.

How do they add engine oil during flight?
Have you seen antonov aircraft? They already look like star destroyers.
CC
Ping!
I think the President of the US should arrive to his important meetings in an SST! For less than 4 billion, maybe Lockheed could modify something agreeable. Or resurrect a Concorde?
“What’s that, a Summit in London? Be there by lunch.”
As long as it’s not a Tupolev TU-154...
Definitely. Any aircraft that the president is on is designated 'Air Force 1'.
Reminds me of when our Embassies were built in Eastern Bloc countries.
I’ve heard those buildings were riddled with electronic ears.
Any Airforce craft. Marine One is the Heilo. And when W did the carrier trap, it was Navy One.
When one considers all the redundancies and comm gear, each plane is like two planes in one. I saw the inside of Marine 1, the Presidential helicopter once. It had 2 generators, pontoons for water landing and self-sealing fuel tanks. Inside was a bed and a desk.
I couldn’t get much closer than 10 feet, as it was cordoned off and patrolled by an armed Marine.
How many hours, landings, pressurization cycles...
On the current AF-1’s?
Tires OK? Burn oil? How is the compression?
Thanks for the clarification.
Pedro is a Ukrainian name?
Somebody needs to check HIS birth certificate.
It isn't Boeing's fault. They aren't writing the specs for the planes.
I figured he must. Air Force One is equipped with weapons, right? How much do you think that costs? Could he outfit his own plane with weapons or not?
As an aside, what do you think of the cost for security for Trump tower?
Is there some sort of renovation going to be done to the White House after the Obama’s leave?
At first I thought Trump might use the White House like an Office, but I hadn’t thought about the expense of security for his New York home.
The little one could shuttle people to and from the big one without it ever having to land.
