Eventually, the surrounding towns will know who these boys are, and where their families live. This is too big to remain a secret. I would suspect once their fate is known, the families may find it best to just leave town asap.

The initial fire, or what they think was the initial fire, was relatively small. But hurricane-force winds preceding a storm blew embers for miles, resulting in an enormously quick, huge inferno around the Gatlinburg area.
