The historic Michigan recount has been underway since Monday in a few counties, but it could end December 7 because of a state court of appeals ruling.
The next step: A hearing on the recount started at 10:30 a.m. in front of U.S. District Judge Mark Goldsmith. However, complicating matters, a federal appeals court issued a separate ruling refusing to block Goldsmiths earlier ruling that the recount should start immediately. The judge now says he will make a ruling in the afternoon....
Will the recount continue? Thats unclear until the latest hearing, but Republicans trying to stop the recount won a big victory December 6 when a state Court of Appeals panel ruled that Stein didnt have standing to seek the recount in the first place under Michigan law because she is not an aggrieved party. Thats because she only received 1 percent of the vote in Michigan, and a recount would still give her no chance of winning.
According to the Secretary of State, Stein received 51,000 votes out of 4.9 million ballots cast in Michigan and is alleging fraud or mistake.
The Detroit News said the state court ruling did not explicitly order the recount to stop, though, causing even some clerks to be confused about whats going to happen next.
Confusing matters more, the federal court, on December 7, opted not to overturn the ruling that had previously allowed the recount to start. The Michigan Attorney General had sought to block the recount in federal court.

What kind of sick ego doesn't give a crap about what this is costing the people of Michigan. That would be the "comedy" team of Stein and Goldsmith.
Yes. That’s good news. Recount over, or at least the feds are out of it. Stein’s last gasp is Mi Supreme Court, and she does not have a right to be heard their, it is discretionary on the part of Mi Supreme Court.
I am in agreement. There was no computer issues this afternoon and that was stalling tactic.
Looking at the list of motions to be heard by them on this, it seems it would take a while to get her appeal on the docket unless it’s fast tracked.
WHOO HOO!! Bye Bye Stein, AND GOOD RIDDANCE.
It’s over. TRO dissolved.
How long until the RECOUNT CONTINUES thread pops up now? I’d be shocked if that loony witch walked away now.
thank you
Time to raise a beer!! This thing is done!
BOOM!
God I hate this crap. I just hate the Rats for putting the country through this AGAIN.
I think Mi SC will pretty quickly issue a "no thanks." No explanation needed.
So Judge, why issue your opinion/order in the first place?
Smacked down by an Obama judge. That’s gotta hurt.
IS the recount stopping, or continuing... inquiring minds want to know?
Almost done. MiSC needs to tell Stein “no thanks” and then it’s done. MiSC does not have to explain anything. Any delay is a “courtesy” to the justices so they have comfort that the MI appeals court got it right. Any DEMs on the MiSC might want to pen a dissent from the no thanks, but I think not. Recounting as a matter of routine is an admission that the system is not trustworthy, period.
Sure looks like it. I don’t expect Jill SoroStein to give up so long as she’s on the HillarySoros payroll. On to Florida?
