Durbin, Graham Statement on Trump Comments on DREAMers
U.S. Senators Dick Durbin ^ | 12.07.16 | U.S. Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC)

WASHINGTON—U.S. Senators Dick Durbin (D-IL) and Lindsey Graham (R-SC) released the following statement on comments made to Time magazine by President-elect Donald Trump, who said, “We’re going to work something out that’s going to make people happy and proud. They got brought here at a very young age, they’ve worked here, they’ve gone to school here. Some were good students. Some have wonderful jobs. And they’re in never-never land because they don’t know what’s going to happen.”

“We’re encouraged by these comments by President-elect Trump — they present an opportunity to do the right thing for more than 744,000 young people who grew up here. There is bipartisan support for this in the Senate and we will soon have a legislative response ready if needed.  They have much to contribute to the country they love.”

Linda ought to ponder that if you can issue a joint statement with Turban, you need serious self reflection.

Trump seems to be evolving into alignment with the Gang of Eight plan.

Not good.

The even bigger issue is the ones that were born here illegally.

I suspect we will have something like this, and Freeper heads will explode.

Any deal on the Dreamers needs to end birthright citizenship.

“We”

Breaking the law vitiates (destroys or impairs the legal validity of) equitable defenses like hardship, detrimental reliance, laches, and so forth.

“I agree with you.. (I think they should be allowed to stay) but Mommy and Daddy gotta go.

So you want to break up families? That’s one of the arguments illegals and their lawyers will use if we start making exceptions to Trump’s stated policy of eventually deporting all “undocumented immigrants”.

See how sticky it gets when you start making exceptions?
Now, the cowbird chicks, dropped here by Mexican/central American mothers who managed to waddle across our border, those kids can make a legal argument that they cannot be deported. Because they’re Americans. Right?

So the illegals say, if those born here of illegal parents will stay, why can’t I?
And their parents will say, if my kid can stay, why can’t I?

Would you use an age limit? Those who came at 18 will say, why can a 17 year old stay but not me? Some of these “children” were shaving when they got here.
Take this to its logical extreme and you don’t have any illegals. All you have are exceptions.

They came into our country illegally as a family, now they can go home as a family. The minor `anchors’ can go home with their parents or they can be placed in foster care. We’re paying for many of them as it is.

As Trump said, we’re either a nation—and a nation of laws—or we aren’t.
We have stood by seething as our government, particularly under Obama but Bush and Clinton as well, refused to fulfill their oaths to faithfully enforce the law
This is why Trump won. Because he promised to secure our border and deport illegal aliens.

If you think exceptions should be made to the law, so as to gut the law, then you agree with nevertrumpers Graham and Durbin and the `rats, and Obama for that matter: we can pick and choose the laws we want to obey.

The American people were presented with both sides and made their choices. We won.

Grahamnesty wants amnesty for all, give them an inch and they will take a mile.
Using the kids to soften us up to amnesty the parents, grandparents, uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, nephews, etc, etc, etc.

“Chain migration” goes back to 1965 and the ‘family renification’ change in law fathered by that loathesome, swimming sow Teddy Kennedy.
You’re right. It’s a vicious, endless circle. Time to change back to common sense.

While I’ll not flame you,
you, as a tax paying
American have a voice to
your opinion.
If an illegal alien child
born of illegal aliens
is under the age of 18, I believe they should
deported. Their
parents, I’m sure, fully weighed
the risk vs reward in their decision
to break the law. If they are over
18, they need to apply for citizenship
thru normal channels, in the mean time
be granted temporary resident status
for the time it takes to gain citizenship, but also
they should prove they are
gainfully employed. Our
social programs can no
longer stand the drain
of freeloaders taking
advantage of the system.
And those with the attitude
that they are ‘owed’ should
definitely go, no matter
their age.
(I apologize for the
format)
