Former Rep. Allen West, R-Fla., was spotted at Trump Tower on Monday, where he reportedly met with Vice President-elect Mike Pence as well as members of the incoming administrations national security team.
The retired lieutenant colonel also sat down with retired Lt. Gen. Michael Flynn, who has been tapped by President-elect Donald Trump to be national security adviser, and K.T. McFarland, who will be deputy national security adviser, The Hill reported.
Nothing was offered. I mean, they know my reputation very well, West told pool reporters in Trump Tower following the meeting.

I disagree and i think your reasoning is a bit racist. West is a good fella and he’s the best possible choice I’ve seen so far. You’re not draining the swamp with people like Romeny and Bolton.
Oooh, there’s a thought. I was wondering where Col West was going to be deployed on Team Trump.
Certainly, they will find a place for him, he brings a lot to the table.
‘Somebody ODd on DIPSHIT pills this morning!’
Indeed, Mr. West has had many low class slurs cast on him.
He protected the lives of his troops.
He is a brave and courageous man.
I hope he can get a position in the Trump Administration where his ability and honor can be used for the nation.
SS
I have a lot of respect for Allen West- and what he did in a war zone was great, as far as I am concerned.
But I am not certain he is General Officer caliber. Def. high up in the pentagon- but not running things. Does he have any actual administrative experience?
Managing is different skill then leading men in battle. Put him back in the military. Okay maybe one star.
Allen West was the Mad Dog Mattis of the command officer level of the Army you fool.
I have to agree with you. I haven’t seen anything in Allen West’s background or career that qualifies him for a high level cabinet position except perhaps a good publicist.
I don’t pay any attention to what people say.
I pay attention to what people do.
And anyone else who has been paying attention to what West actually did when in Congress - voting for all the corporatism, all the consolidation of federal power, and all the outrageous budgets, there is just one term in mind when I hear someone suggest he should be in public office.
“Coalition-breaking”. People like West and Gingrich are poison pills which will cause large parts of the political coalition that put Trump into office to flee.
It wasn’t neocon retreads like those two who defeated the Clintons. It was despite them that this came to pass.
Actually, he got the 50,000’ view while in congress. He is well spoken, down to earth and not infected with the lack of common sense of being a long time GO or Congress critter. He loves his troops, willing to risk it all for them, and blunt as a baseball bat. He is perfect for many places in the Trump admin. Was hoping he would be the VP, although Pence has done well.
Yes, Secretary of the Army would be a great spot for him.
Ah awesome, now I’m a racist for pointing out how an obviously and outrageously poorly qualified individual with no relevant experience whatsoever is proposed to be promoted to a executive position of high authority and influence, but has zero actual accomplishments to his name from his time in office already.
His one go at electoral politics got him thrown out of office after one term.
If not because he is black, what would justify this extraordinary elevation of a person so deeply unsuited for the positions in question?
I was just wandering about West.
I have had the opportunity to sit down with Colonel West in one-on-ones for considerable amount of time. I have found him to be a very intelligent and eloquent person when it comes to speaking about international affairs. He has a very good handle on the interrelationships of seemingly unconnected issues in our foreign diplomacy.
As I have said before here, he is one of those types of leaders I could follow anywhere. I have found him to be very inspirational.
I hope Trump can find a spot that will provide him an opportunity to succeed.
They both get my vote!
Give him a job!
Oh, dude. Are you suffering a stroke?
LTC West stands on his own merits and his record is solid - not perfect, but solid.
He put his troops first and swam against the tide to do it and for that he has my eternal respect. I only see him as Army Green.
Oh, please.
West has conservative credentials that beat most in the GOP, and the reason he was “rejected” by the voters was his district was scrapped and he was forced to run for reelection in a new, D+5 district.
Mister Rodgers would be better than mittens, even though he is dead.
The VA? That’d be a great move.
