The Japan of today is not the Japan of the 1930s and 1940s so in that sense, the Japanese prime minister should come and the US and Japan should work together. Vets should not have any type of “moral veto” over that. But its not Josh Earnest’s place to tell WWII veterans how to feel about it. Especially ones who spent time in Japanese POW camps.

I agree with you. I never understood the resentment anyone would have against a foreign country that hasn’t been an enemy of ours in decades.
