DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) Some parents in Dorchester County are furious after nine students at Eagles Nest Elementary School were suspended for violating a school drug policy.
The problem parents say is the children weren't caught with drugs. They were accused of having sugar mixed with Kool-Aid in their possession.
ABC News 4 spoke with one parent Tuesday who said her child's infraction was reduced during an expulsion hearing at the district office. The child is now on a probationary status with the district and will be able to return to school Thursday.

Ha, good! Clarinets are the worst instrument. Squeak, squawk, squeak. So, high five on you doing that.
report to the office least the plastic baggie really contain an illegal substance.

Some state laws make the possession of ‘fake’ or ‘simulated’ drugs illegal.
So that could snare these kids.
Remember Ronald Clark O’Bryan, aka The Candy Man, who tried to kill his kids and other kids with cyanide laced Pixie Stix Halloween 1974. His son died.
Fiend.
We’d buy fireballs at the convenience store where the summer camp bus would pick us up every morning. Fun times.
Wintergreen Lifesavers were all the rage for sleepovers. You were supposed to turn off the lights and chew them in front of a mirror to see green sparks. Try as we might, I never saw sparks.
Have you noticed, chewing gum is now plastic-y? Ugh.
Candy and childhood used to be fun. Now the libs have ruined it.
Bring back yard darts, pop guns and clackers!
Yeh.....that’s what I meant...
These babies burn like lightning!!
Exactly! Not that the chillens would get the history behind Eagles Nest, since they’re not taught real history anymore. I suppose when some of these kids grow up and start to research things on their own (those can escape the indoctrination), it should horrify them that they attended that school.
It was fun! A nearby town has a new candy store with old school candy. I no longer enjoy really sweet things, but I brought the kids there for a summer treat. I was surprised to see candy cigarettes. We used to eat/pretend with them in the winter-our breath was the smoke :).
Just saw your post 57- we think alike :).
My son has a friend who was disciplined for eating a beef stick in class in which the substitute teacher was a vegetarian. Yes-he did it just to troll her. But she must have made a big deal about it for the kids to know a sub was a vegetarian.
I told him I’d buy a case for the entire class the next time they had her for a sub.
This ping list is for the other articles of interest to homeschoolers about education and public school. This can occasionally be a fairly high volume list. Articles pinged to the Another Reason to Homeschool List will be given the keyword of ARTH. (If I remember. If I forget, please feel free to add it yourself)
The main Homeschool Ping List handles the homeschool-specific articles. I hold both the Homeschool Ping List and the Another Reason to Homeschool Ping list. Please freepmail me to let me know if you would like to be added to or removed from either list, or both.
Pixie Stix!
