I have been reluctant to engage in speculation over potential Secretary of State candidates because the discussion therein is fraught with far too many nuances to outline succinctly without walking ourselves through a mine-field almost too complex to digest.
Suffice to say, anyone who has followed politics for any substantive amount of time knows the inherent issue with an operational entity, The U.S. State Department, whose entire mission has been at the epicenter of ctrl-left globalist advocacy.

The best course of action is to fire 90% of the bureaucrats at the State Department and to start over.
I think the State Department, especially after Clinton did her things, is one big part of the swamp that needs to be drained, bet they would find a lot of bones down there...
I hope it’s John Bolton. It would be refreshing to have a state department that represents us to other nations, rather than one who thinks its purpose is to represent other nations to us.
I hear his name brought up a lot, but I’m leaning to Gen. Kelly...
The State Department needs a lot more than a new boss. It’s probably the highest concentration of far left drones in the federal government and that’s a noteworthy distinction.
Me too. I like General Kelly.
Rudy was awesome in his day as NYC mayor and the entire country admires his style and competence, but he has been behaving in an unusual manner, given the seriousness of the position for which he is being considered, acting like a gregarious shoe-in, frivolous even.
I never suspected alcohol might be behind any of it, but whatever it is, it was unbecoming. However, I’m old school, and no New Yorker.
State needs to be trimmed down to a job description, (written by Trump), a pen and a phone and one functioning secretary attached.
I know whereof I speak, my late 2nd cousin plus a best friend/neighbor were lifetime career State Department men, one in the Economic Division and one in the Diplomatic division.
There are also many retired State Department careerists who are my neighbors here in Florida, in fact, quite a colony.
I can't begin to tell you all the inside State Department Swamp Stories I've been privy to...it's painful for a patriotic American to try to listen nonchalantly over coffee to their "sophisticated" globalist world views (or to read their emails to me after I would innocently bait them on some issue or other, LOL).

Bolton is a Fox News talking ahead and above all a W Bush Man.
I watched him on Fox News today dance around the stage on Islamic State expressing his desire to destroy, but bringing in the notion that Iran is the problem which was a factor in our decision to cast our lot with the Sunni Muslim (Saudis, Qataris) jihadis in Syria in the first place helping to create the Islamic State.
Bolton mentioned the Kurds which I like but he mentioned ‘bringing other nations in the region in’ smelling like code words for the co-creators of the Islamic State (Gulf Arab Nations).
The numbers of candidates under “consideration” is soon going to become the butt of jokes, due partly one can suppose, to the circumstances of their televised flow into, (and right back out) of Trump Tower.
I am somewhat wobbly also on John Bolton, for his neo-con attractions on foreign engagement, but he has a well earned fan base as a television personality, who has been fed up of 8 years of Obama scooting around on a rug at the feet of foreign powers, who witness his bows and hear his apologies for the the USA.
Who else is out there? General Kelly begins to sound better and better.
DISMANTLE State. UNaccountable executive branch bureaucrats. Witness Hillaryous Rotten Criminal.
That’s the issue, the State Department is staffed by elites from Ivy League schools, members of the Council on Foreign Relations.
State has a mindset of its own which is contrary to other branches of the government like the White House at times and especially the military.
My mother worked there during the “McCarthy Era” back around 1950 (she wasn’t a Commie) and I visited the building myself around 1970 and went right up to the top floor and the Secretary of State’s office suite, took a look in the conference rooms. Heck, I saw that building top to bottom in a way I probably wouldn’t be allowed to today.
She maintained some connection to this part of our government and that’s where I get my general opinion about the State Department’s view of the world,
The stuff about Council on Foreign Relations and so on comes from the John Birch Society and its sympathizers.
Conspiracy, I doubt it, but wrong headed thinking and a belief in building a world system of economics and government, yes, that exists in Washington DC in general and the State Department in particular based on my reading of things.
I want a non-Council on Foreign Relations, non-Neocon SOS and that’s tough because diplomats and business people who have worldwide contacts all seem to fit into the CFR, Bilderberg, Davos crowd.
Trump put Michael Flynn in as National Security Advisor (non CFR), but K.T. MacFarland (Fox News talking head, CFR member) in as his deputy.
Perhaps we will see this arrangement at State with non-CFR at top, CFR in the deputy spots.....
Hillary at state was an abomination.....her and her dammed foundation. Obama knew exactly what the Clintons were doing.....no question. He had to play stupid (not a stretch for him) to get his cut of the zillions.
RitaOK also hit upon something....the off-putting mannerisms of those seeking the office....like Rudy
Gotta have someone w/ gravitas to undo the Clinton criminality.
I say Gen Kelly...or Dr Sebastian Gorka.
“........the highest concentration of far left drones in the federal government and thats a noteworthy distinction.”........
And “ripe” for the picking. Trump could easily “Make America Great Again” by draining that particular swamp first.
Morning Joe brought up Robert Gates name today. Notable that Trump had brought in Gates to the Tower for counsel.
Richard Haas (CFR) and David Ignatius (WAPO) and Scarborough were giddy with the thought of Gates as Secretary of State.
Surely Jeff Sessions or some conservative whisperer will inform and warn the president elect of the globalist dynamics at play in such an idea.
Btw, KT McFarland is picked by Trump already, as an Under-secretary, nextrush.
Gorka is the coolest thing going, but really scares the Left, as a no-negotiation kind of guy. Could he get through congressional hearings?
I went to the CFR website and looked at the list of members.
I haven’t looked at a CFR membership list in decades.
Amazing list of big names in media, government, business.
Your Uniparty
Jake Tapper
Tulsi Gabbard
George Clooney
Warren Buffett
John S. McCain
Chelsea Clinton
Bill Clinton
But no Hillary there or Donald Trump for that matter. It would have looked bad if either had been on a list.
Here is the link for the “G’s” on the list. You can click the letters at the top of the page to see the rest.
http://www.cfr.org/about/membership/roster.html?letter=G
“Gorka scares the left”.....he has got to get the job..... on that credential only.
Ok, so this is basically a globalist Left organization, which totally explains the composition of the State Department, and visa versa.
The tentacles of the CFR have quite a reach. When they have a Berkley nerd over “Religion and Peace..... “. One can only then surmise just how far the US Conference of Catholic Bishops is from this circle, definitely in the shadows of the CFR loop, working hand in glove strategically.
(We all have our special interests, and as one distressed Catholic, observing the actions of the USCCB and the Vatican happens to be one of mine.) Presently, and sadly, Rome is a thread to more trouble and the Vatican does have its global reach. Practically and potentially anything can be peddled anywhere through that that thread path, depending on the mood and aimless vagueness of the current pope.
I won’t comment on the theological issues on the table at the Vatican.
But Pope Francis along with Barack Obama has pushed ‘mediation’ between the Cuban style regime and the opposition that is going nowhere in Venezuela right now where inflation has now reached the 2400%.
The suffering of the people is only getting worse under these conditions and food issues will only worsen.
