Sears was the Amazon of it’s day. Now obsolete.

Is Jim Cramer still pushing Sears Holdings?
My wife lost a small fortune listening to that huckster.

The only time my wife and I go into Sears is when we get a parking space close to the door, as we cut through to go to the movies.

Ironically, with their brand based upon catalogue sales, they could have been one of the earliest online ‘Amazon-like’ retailers, but it seems they missed the boat by being tied to the mall anchor concept.

I knew when they used the slogan, “The softer side of Sears” it was downhill from there.

Last time I was in Sears I had to practically beg someone to take my money for a $700 Kenmore washing machine. Didn’t work from day one. They brought another one out. It didn’t work either. But they could fix it in about three weeks. I told them to forget about it and had them take it back.
Haven’t set foot in a Sears since, nor shopped with them on line.

Sad. I just purchased a new DieHard battery recently. It’s all I use. Never had a problem with them in 30 years. Run them for the full 5 years & get a new one that works like a charm.

these execs seem like they were not truly interested in Sears as a business to begin with, just the salary and perks.

The really sad part is that Sears always had a strong reputation for catalog sales, a strenght that should have easily translated into an online presence.

Watched my dad bend a thin drill bit from Sears made in China. Held it in his fist and used his thumb to bend it ninety degree.

Sears guitars (Danelectro) weren’t half bad. Certainly a kid like myself could buy one with paper route money.

SEARS could have been amazon... they had all the data from catalogs all they had to do was digitize them.
To: ARGLOCKGUY
I’ve been to Sears a few times in the past year and it wasn’t busy at all. I was there last weekend and it sure didn’t seem like it was almost Christmas.
To: ARGLOCKGUY
They should go back to their roots and become a catalog order company again.
