Dallas lawyer Brian Loncar died Sunday, two days after the funeral for his 16-year-old daughter, who killed herself on Nov. 26. How the 56-year-old died and where he was found remain a mystery, but investigators called to his downtown office examined a Rolls Royce Wraith parked outside.

He literally died of a broken heart.
Yes, the bigamy charge on which he was indicted was dropped for lack of jurisdiction, wasn't it?
Sad story. The rest of the family has a lot to endure. Prayers for them.

We all have to keep on keeping on. Sometimes just getting
up and walking around the porch a few rounds in the fresh
air helps get the blood circulating. Eating a couple of
good meals a day also helps. Getting checked for any
nutritional deficiencies also helps. (I came up short in
potassium and now have to take a couple of 99 mg. potassium
asporotate and eat an orange and 10 or 15 banana chips or
a banana a day.) Also a few other things as well. It’s a
bit of a hassle; but I have to keep going for other’s sakes.
Enough protein is necessary for me or I get real weak;
smallish steak, grilled salmon at Captain D’s, a few fish
sticks at home. Ya’ll gotta TRY! You can’t wimp out on me
now!!!!
Her father wrote that, so I would assume they are a Christian family.
Wow, I just heard a radio ad for him the other day.
“Sometimes its hard to remember that Lawyers are people, too.”
And this one died of what was probably a broken heart. All the money in the world..................and yet his young daughter was gone, and now he is to.
LOL! I didn’t know that! Did I miss that in the article?
No, it wasn’t in that story, and probably properly so in what is basically a suicide obituary. And after all, what better defense to a bigamy charge than to argue that the guy who performed the Vegas wedding was dressed like Elvis, so the wedding couldn’t be a crime.

For a better picture of his domestic life and scorched earth divorce litigation, I recommend the Dallas Observer: http://www.dallasobserver.com/news/ill-fight-for-you-6403097
The guy was a true ambulance chaser. Turley and Baron were plaintiff’s lawyers at the high end of the food chain and don’t (or didn’t) deserve that label. Loncar was at the other end, although he appears to have found a profitable niche. I never crossed paths with him professionally, so there’s no personal animosity involved. And, as an insurance defense lawyer told me in connection with a plaintiff’s lawyer in another state, “Guys like that keep the rest of us in business”.
The girl’s funeral was in a United Methodist church, which in itself, doesn’t tell much. From their “What we Believe” page: “We believe that Dallas doesnt necessarily need more card-carrying Christians; what Dallas needs are more people who are living like Jesus.”
The church itself apparently operates as a branch of the very prominent Highland Park United Methodist Church (Jerry Jones, George W. Bush, and Dick Cheney are current or former members of HPUMC).
Sometimes its hard to remember that Lawyers are people, too.

I can’t think of a single category of lawyer that isn’t fully corrupt. The bad ones push the ethical ones out.
Brian Loncar story update from the UK Daily Mail:
His stepson, David Long, told Dallas Morning News that a team at Baylor had notified the family that Loncar’s death was probably caused by a heart attack, but the medical examiner’s office has not confirmed that.
