Trump warned companies of retribution or consequences for leaving the U.S. Donald Trump warned U.S. companies of retribution or consequences, such as a massive tariff, if they leave the country.
In a series of early morning tweets Sunday, Trump said companies with offshore factories would face a 35% tax on products they want to sell back in the U.S.
The U.S. is going to substantialy [sic] reduce taxes and regulations on businesses, but any business that leaves our country for another country, fires its employees, builds a new factory or plant in the other country, and then thinks it will sell its products back into the U.S. without retribution or consequences, is WRONG! the president-elect wrote. There will be a tax on our soon to be strong border of 35% for these companies wanting to sell their product, cars, A.C. units, etc., back across the border.
The proclamations came after Trumps intervention with Carrier, who decided to keep about 1,000 jobs in Indiana instead of moving them to Mexico. Carrier will receive economic incentives worth $7 million, in a deal negotiated by Vice President-elect Mike Pence, the current governor of Indiana. Despite the Carrier deal, the company still plans to close a plant in Huntington, Indiana, moving about 700 jobs to Mexico.

Relative to the absolute that only God has.
I just want to ask one question. What role have you given God in your scenario? A real genuine God who will work miracles of giving to those willing to glorify Him for it.
That’s the only absolute freedom there is.
If you haven’t bothered with God... why should I bother with your theory? Your theory is only vague words slung around.
Why can’t you wrap your head around the idea of identifying the root causes of business fleeing the country in the first place and then what measures would directly attack those root causes. Tariffs do not address the root causes of businesses leaving America. Abolishing unconstitutional and oppressive federal acts do.
.
Why can’t you let God wrap YOUR head in sense?
How is what I said vague? I have specified that what we are taking about is POLITICAL freedom and have defined political freedom.
That is distinct from SPIRITUAL/PERSONAL freedom which you seem to be confusing with the political freedom argument.
Why do you seem to be assuming that the focus on political freedom somehow excludes or denies personal/spiritual freedom found in the grace of Christ?
The solution is to make the business enviroment here so godo its’ better for them to stay than to leave.
To try to prevent businesses from leaving because of a bad business environment is as absurd and self-defeating as the Soviets building a wall so their people can’t leave.
I believe that’s what the Master Persuader has planned. In this part of the negotiation process you make your business partner nervous about getting a bad deal, that way the deal you had in mind all along looks really good to them when you present it.
