These guys talked about “Conservative Right” and “Alternative Right” in the past.
The first use of “Alt-Right” appears to be this year. These guys claimed they first coined it, but they did not use “Alt-Right” when doing so. They used the above names until “Alt-Right” become prominent this year. Then they claimed they were the first to reference it.
I’m not buying into that.
“Alt-right” has been used this year in conjunction with seedy racist name calling. So thanks for the nice links. You made it easy for me to confirm this.
I respectfully disagree with you, and I shall present my evidence.
For instance, here it is a July, 2010 page at View from the Right, where I first encountered it. VFR was run by the late Lawrence Auster, who had many problems with the Alt-Right, but called them that all the time. As they called themselves that at the time, elsewhere.
Note that besides it's use in the title it is used about 10 times in the long series of respones Auster published, many of them by other readers, again demonstrating that it was widely used at least as far back as 2010.

I wonder if Google is working to suppress "Alt-Right" in some way?
Several people, besides you, have made the same claim.
I have been on these sites (mentioned here and my previous post) and familiar with these terms for many many years. I can assure you they were in common use well before 2016.
If you want to visit a large, thriving and very active community of Alt-righters, just click on the link below (The_Donald subreddit). It may take you a while to get acclimated to them. They are gung-ho conservatives, but not in our mold. They have their faults, but racism/white supremacy isn’t one of them. They are the very antithesis of racism.
