President-elect Trump doubles down on 35% tax for businesses that ship jobs out of U.S.
NEW YORK Fresh off saving 800 Carrier factory jobs from being off-shored to Mexico, President-elect Donald Trump is renewing his threat against companies that move their operations to foreign countries.
Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump The U.S. is going to substantialy reduce taxes and regulations on businesses, but any business that leaves our country for another country, 6:41 AM - 4 Dec 2016

I like the carrot but not the stick. Instead, we need set up a tax/legal environment that encourages companies to do business here in general. That’s the president’s real job.
Will we give deeper tax breaks to companies that move INTO the US?
“President-elect Trump doubles down on 35% tax for businesses that ship jobs out of U.S.”
What they fail to say is he is doubling down holding an 11. The media wants to portray it like he is doubling down and is holding a 6.
Trump is going to pull a 10. He has for his entire career and has proven it time and time again. Maybe one day they will get it.
We’re going to lower the corporate tax rate to 15%.
But here’s the flip side: it will cost you double to off-shore your operations abroad.
You won’t get a tax cut for shedding American jobs.
Well, yeah, that's why one's called a carrot and one's called a stick.
Trump: You da man.
Let's hope the Bush NWO revolution is over!
Both work.
Clever!
But I meant as a policy.
Regardless, I won't be moving my business out of the US.
I love it.
Good in some ways but I would prefer to reward those who do business in the USA and craft trade deals with those who do not.
In the end the best bet is to create a business climate that incentivizes people to start new businesses here. If they are so successful that they want to expand to other countries, that’s great. But if the business climate is advantageous here they will keep the main body of their business here.
We can’t compete on wages so we have to compete in other ways to incentivize business to locate and stay here.
I would rather it be across the board rather than favoring one business or another with special deals.
Some one tell me please if businesses can't find most of what they're looking for in this vast country? And don't just say max profits.
And what about companies that ship IT jobs or accounting jobs or call center jobs or medical jobs overseas? How is he going to sanction them?
Your concern has been noted, logged and filed.
That’s easy. Just keep track of the internet traffic to call centers etc. And send them a bill based on usage. For phones the same.
Those are service jobs. Right now he is working on manufacturing.
I'm relieved! ;-)
Manufactures can’t find in the USA coolies to work for third world wages making products they can never afford to be shipped to the upper classes all over the world duty free. That they can’t find.
I submit that just as many service jobs have been lost to off-shoring as manufacturing jobs, maybe more. Pursuing half a solution leaves millions out in the cold.
A national retail sales tax would tax imports, remove federal tax costs from exports, and repatriate dollars.
It would take an amendment to repeal the income tax... but now is a great time for that. Both houses are nominally controlled by R. R has a nice number of state legislatures under control too.
Do it! Repeal the income tax and replace with a national RETAIL sales tax.
