In the affluent Washington neighborhood of Chevy Chase, the tinsel, poinsettias and Christmas trees are competing for attention this holiday season with an unusual house decoration: gay pride rainbow flags.
When news filtered out in late November that Vice President-elect Mike Pence was temporarily moving into the white colonial with green shutters on Tennyson Street NW — in the heart of Chevy Chase, a liberal Democratic stronghold — neighbors decided to greet the Republican interloper with polite protest: rainbow flags flapping from their homes. It was time to Make Chevy Chase Great Again.

One idea was to put a ‘Chevy Chase.
Hillary’ banner, but we thought that would be too in-your-face,” said Joanna Pratt, 66, an environmental consultant who came up with the idea and lives across the street from Pence. Now, at least seven homes on the street boast the flags — a response to Pence’s opposition over the years to equal rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

What a teachable moment to restore the full and true meaning of the rainbow. Oh Mr. Pence, please don’t blow this opportunity.

You are correct. The U.S. Naval Observatory, home of the current Vice President, does not have visible neighbors.
Not exactly. There are lots of houses near the observatory until you get to the fence. Hell see the flags when he travels but that’s it.

An interesting side note is that the traditional rainbow has seven colors (Not counting the “invisible spectrum”). Those colors are memorized by schoolchildren with the acronym “Roy G. Biv”, and stands for:
Red
Orange
Yellow
green
blue
indigo
violet.
The “Rainbow flag” omits indigo and only has 6 colors. While it may have been an unconscious omission by the designer, it reduces God’s rainbow, with the symbolic number seven, which means completion and perfection, to a mere 6, the “number of a man” and also a very scary number when there are three of them in a row!
What is it about the loonie left that makes them believe that everyone will agree with them if they just keep babbling on and on about their disproven ideas?
