The Trump win was supposed to sink the economy. Instead, thingsat least so farseem to be looking up. And so a new media narrative has just been launched: If Donald Trump succeeds, it will be because President Barack Obama gave him such a great push. How else to explain the near simultaneous publication of two articles on Friday, one in Politico, the other at FiveThirtyEight.
The first is "Trump Inherits Obama Boom" by Politico's Ben White, with the subheadline, "The president is handing his successor an economy that's now the envy of the world." The second, over at FiveThirtyEight, come from Ben Casselman and is headlined, "Trump Will Benefit From Obama's Strong Job Market." To Casselman's credit (or that of his editor), the subhead is a bit more measured: "Donald Trump will inherit a job market that is strong but perhaps not quite firing on all cylinders."

Pure, unadulterated BS.
It’s almost as if the media has chosen political sides or sumthin’.
The MSM are America’s trailer trash.
They are the poorest example of an American.
The MSM are unwashed bloated brown baggers with puke on their shirts.
[spit]
“The president is handing his successor an economy that’s now the envy of the world.”
The author needs to lay off the drugs, obviously stoned or deranged.
Yeah - we just got another jobs report showing another decline in unemployment due to another monstrous increase in people leaving the labor force. That’s the envy of the world, alright...not to mention underemployment and declining median earnings.
Media continues to be clueless.
HAHAHA. Just like everything. Everything good is Obama’s. Anything bad is Bush’s or Reagan’s.
Thanks, Obama! You were too lazy to do half the things you could have done to destroy the country, and you set such a low standard that any successor can easily do better.
Sure, just as soon as we dump Obmacare, cut taxes, cut regulations, cut government, dump nafta, dump all of Obama’s executive orders and executive agreements, renegotiate trade deals, secure the borders, deport illegals, erase all of Obama’s excesses, etc. Other than that, Obama was an economic genius.
More like the rest of the world is totally screwed and in the red. A “relatively good” economy is absolutely nothing to be proud of.
Yup, you knew this was coming. Before he’s even in office, and for the next hopefully 8 years.
Out of 179,000 new Oct. jobs, 9,000 were full-time jobs. Thousands are box-packing part-time Christmas jobs at Amazon, Walmart & other retailers. They will be gone in January. And 460,000 people “left the work force,” reducing unemployment rate to an eight-year low of 4.6%. How convenient! They will lie to the end.
No, I will thank God. Obama had nothing to do with it.
If Trump does what the nation needs to be done then we will have a short sharp downturn of most everything that will feel like a collapse to be followed by a very steep upturn that keeps going. You can’t get the engine going again until you get the bad gas out of the tank and the stripped gears replaced. If you just tweak things and try to dilute the bad gas with good you can keep it running poorly and maybe improve the immediate operation some but you are wearing the whole thing out and when something major finally breaks the whole engine becomes scrap.
Sowing the seeds of their own demise and piling on the fertilizer too boot.
Sowing the seeds of their own demise and piling on the fertilizer too boot.
You just can’t make this kind of stuff up, the enemedia are trying to outdo even themselves with bilge.
My aren’t you being just a little unfair? You’re forgetting all the jobs that Obama has created by his support for Black Lives Matter and other leftist groups. These so-called protesters or rioters. Those actually could be permanent jobs at least for the next 8 years. s/
Obama destroyed the economy for 7.5 years and it finally registers an uptick because Trump was elected. So, naturally, it’s Obama’s recovery.
If the economy stinks, don’t forget that is Bush’s fault
