I hate to admit it but he has a point.

Shouldn’t every business get the same tax cuts, not just ones threatening to move their business to a different country?

I know Trump was trying to help out in this specific situation but it does, in effect, reward a company that was threatening to move a chunk of its business to Mexico.

The problem is the overall business climate in the US is not friendly to businesses large and small. In addition, States have the power to tax (or not tax) businesses and if we believe in the right of States to set their own policies then the Federal government (or its representatives, like a president) should not be interfering in that.

I’m sorry, there is a lot wrong with this deal, even if we agree that it is good for the particular families involved that have their jobs saved (for how long no one knows). I’m happy for these families but the bigger picture is important here too.

I agree. But I'm willing to give Trump a little room in this case. The PR value alone makes it worth it to me.

But giving a specific company in a specific industry a gift/bribe is really not where Trump needs go. Fortunately I believe he know that. Time will tell but I'm not going to ring my hands over this one.

BINGO! Glad to see not everyone has the (R) knee-pads ready and waiting when “we win”.

Biz (and taxpayers) of Indiana should be asking the same question: “What about ME?”. How many small biz would fail to close shop if the same incentive were presented, or divided out?

And Trump ran on a platform of cutting corporate taxes for ALL businesses.

As another freeper said. ..Trump is not President...he’s still a private citizen...he helped a state, yes...but I believe it wasn’t that different than what happens in States all the time.

did every business get a ton of federal dollars when Obama theoretically bailed out G.M. and Chrysler.....I don't think so.

Exactly.

Freepers here seem to get so kneejerk in supporting Trump (who I am very glad won and is going to be president) that they turn themselves inside out trying to defend the indefensible.
