End of 2017. Mayor De Blasio’s new program of housing the homeless in private homes, and paying for it with public funds, has unexpectedly resulted in a boom in the number of homeless. The the amount the city is paying out has mysteriously tripled.
Officials have pledged to track down the source of the mystery.
Update 2017; Homeless out of control seems to be 125% of the population of New York City. Mayor De Blasio requests federal aid and the Trump adminstration replies “Your bed, you lie in it”.
Oh this is hilarious. So I could just have my friend register as “homeless”, then he moves in with me and NYC pays our rent. Sounds like a good deal.
What could possibly go wrong?
Sounds airtight. No chance for fraud there!
No need to even bother splitting the take with a friend.
Just get a fake ID, and “identify” as two different people ! Now you be both benefactor AND benefiary, and you can help yourself !
Who says socialism discourages self sufficiency?
from pay to require.
(see third amendment)
This is the communist manifesto of “you have to much” (see also Dr. Zivago movie scene where commies are forcing owners to take strangers into their homes.
PS: this type of fraud is rife under Section 8. The owner of a unit gets a fake ID and poses as a low income tenant, gets a voucher, and “finds” an apartment.
Section 8 electronically deposits the rent payment in the bank account of the landlord -—who is also the nonexistent “tenant.”
Meanwhile, the crooked landlord can rent the same apartment to a real tenant. More money, and the real tenant doesn’t need to know.
This is why ALL these government programs should require photos and fingerprints. Better yet, shut them down.
Book burning lefties using tax payer dollars
I can see every family evicting their 18+ y.o. kids and then taking them in as “homeless” family members. It could become a great middle class subsidy.
