The 12th amendment says it’s a majority of electors Appointed. One could argue the electors are already Appointed in these states.
Absolutely correct, however, the Democrats will try to convince the public that the 270 figure MUST be reached in order for a candidate to be viewed as legitimately winning the election. For them, it's all about perception, not facts.
You and the whole "words mean what the words state" thing. You're so 18th century for thinking words mean what the words are. Today the courts splinter off in 10,000 interpretations of an effort to try and extract the intent of the writer of those words and have that weigh in more than the narrow definitions of those words.
