The 12th amendment says it’s a majority of electors Appointed. One could argue the electors are already Appointed in these states.

Absolutely correct, however, the Democrats will try to convince the public that the 270 figure MUST be reached in order for a candidate to be viewed as legitimately winning the election. For them, it's all about perception, not facts.

You missed my point. The three contested states have already Appointed there electors. That means 270 is the majority and cannot change. It’s not a majority of electors who vote, it’s a majority of electors Appointed. The recounts are an attempt to change the current electors.
