This might be Nick Sabans best team ever. But some of college footballs best teams ever have dropped games before.
Is it possible for an Alabama team to be underrated? Have we just gotten bored with talking about Nick Saban's Tide?
Most of the talk regarding college football's Championship Weekend has centered around the fun matchups in Penn State-Wisconsin, whether Colorado or Virginia Tech has a shot at an upset, or what the Playoff committee might do about Michigan.
But we haven't had much to say about Bama, defending national champion and winner of four of the last seven titles. The Crimson Tide are heavy favorites to roll against Florida to their third consecutive conference title. And they would be significant favorites against whoever they might play in the semifinals of the CFP.(College Football Playoffs)
What else is there to say? Bama has recruited and developed players better than any team in the sport, and the Tide are on a magnificent run because of it.
But that doesn't go far enough.
This isn't just a good Bama team. This might be the best Bama team. This might be the best team, period, since World War II.

Urban Meyer and Chris Petersen are 1 & 2 in winning %. Meyer spent most of his career at big time schools where he could recruit big time talent. Petersen turned a program that nobody had ever heard of that could not recruit the best talent for that very reason into a perennial national title contender, mostly by being innovative. I would give the nod on tactician to Petersen.
You might want to check your stats...Coach Chris has the second highest career winning percentage BECAUSE he was at Boise State.
Except for the fake punt from deep in Ohio State territory when Ohio State was up 7-3 in the first half. That should have cost the game.
ESPN? Surely you jest. I wouldn't work for that limp-wristed progtard outfit if they paid me Saban's salary.
As for the rest, that is not "my little crack" it's a quote by the man who wrote the song. And yes Donald Fagen is a bigot, but quoting him doesn't make me one.
Do they teach reading comprehension at 'Bama? Seems like you need a refresher.
You think the SEC is a weak conference?
It is this year.
If Jake Browning is on his game. That’s a big if.
And if our coaches stop calling too many trick plays.
Alabama is for real. Anyone saying otherwise hasn’t watched.
However, an A team can beat an A÷ team 2 out of 10 times. Since a bowl game is just one game, that says they have a chance to win and not just a fluke shot at a win. They need something to happen to make them believe.
I believe you are the one who needs to learn to read, little boy. In my previous post I asked you what team you support? You failed to answer. Embarrassed, maybe?
UA is consistently ranked among the top 50 Public Universities, so your snide remark only reflects poorly on you.
You seem to have an almost violent hatred for the Crimson Tide, but that is your problem. You seem to harbor anger issues, period. Seek help.
Live in your little fantasy land as much as you want. Facts don’t lie. The experts have Bama’s schedule ranked higher than the other playoff teams. You can throw your childish tantrum all you want but it doesn’t change the facts. It just proves your ignorance about College Football.
USC is on line one for you... ;-)
Alabama is at the top of a weak conference. Saying that doesn’t indicate “violent hatred” it’s just a statement of fact. So based on your unhinged reply, I’m going to have to go ahead and assume that you didn’t learn reading comprehension there.
They have an outstanding defense. I don’t see their offense as being better than several other top ten teams. The claim that they’re the best team ever is nonsense, and the belief expressed on this thread that they could stay on the field against even the worst team in the NFL is laughably preposterous.
Fagen must know nothing about SEC football. When we think of losers it comes up Vanderbilt. (most years)
Well...
I used to stay up all night long with the Doobie Brothers at the Chateau Liberté back when I was 45 years younger, I may even have sang with them a couple times.
There is a suspicion around here that Browning had bruised ribs. He went thru about a 3 week period where his passes did not have the zip or accuracy they normally do, however, by the Apple Cup he was back to early season form.
Looking forward to watching tonight. I think they’ll take Colorado handily - let’s see if they can really take it to them and win some beauty points.
The Browns would beat Bama by 30.
Hurts would probably get killed.
He’s a smug little punk that would be nothing if not for his father.
It was your tone that indicated hatred. No matter, it’s just your own opinion.
Yes, the SEC is a little down but so is every other conference. No conference is dominant this year.
Bama’s schedule is ranked by the experts as being the toughest among the playoff teams. Fact. Deal with it,
Don’t bother to reply because I’m finished with you.
