This had to be one of the dumbest rules ever adopted in the history of organized sports.

Interestingly, we saw a rare case this year where the National League team benefitted from the DH rule more than the American League team did. The Chicago Cubs were able to add an excellent DH to their lineup (Kyle Schwarber) who was rarely used as a starter in the field because he was coming off a serious injury.

Absolutely agree. And the Indians lost the benefit of national league rules with them having a strong bullpen with a very injured starting rotation. They would have benefited more from the non-DH situation where both teams would rely more heavily on their bullpens.
