Senate Democrats are making it clear that Sen. Jeff Sessions will not have an easy time being confirmed as President-elect Donald J. Trump’s first attorney general.
In a letter addressed to Senate Judiciary Committee Chairman Chuck Grassley (R-IA), Democrats on the committee pushed for extensive confirmation hearings, indicating that they plan resistance, despite the fact that they referred to him as “a colleague” with whom they “have a personal and cordial relationship.”
The senators also requested that Grassley allow for outside witnesses to testify on Sessions’ track record on immigration, civil and voting rights, women’s rights, and government oversight due to his “extensive record” on these “important issues.”
Part of the letter reads, “[w]hen our country is struggling with so many divisions, the committee and the entire Senate must ask whether Senator Sessions is the right man to lead the agency charged with securing and protecting the constitutional and civil rights of all Americans.”
The letter was signed by Sens. Patrick Leahy (D-VT), Dianne Feinstein (D-CA), Richard “Dick” Durbin (D-IL), Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI), Amy Klobuchar (D-MN), Al Franken (D-MN), Christopher Koons (D-DE), and Richard Blumenthal (D-CT).

Comeuppance springs to mind. That which goes around having gone around, now comes the season of reaping that which they so gleefully and brazenly sewed when they were "in power." Time to reacquaint ourselves with wielding total control over the whole shebang, while doing our best not to take too much obvious pleasure in the writhing, kvetching, sniveling mishegoss going on across the aisle.

Then as the Republican nominee, they threw things at him right and left, he won that nomination...

He is the President Elect because all of the American People could see what was happening and who was doing what, in our media, in our House, in our Senate in our White House, in all departments, and nothing is sticking, he is building his cabinet to serve the American People, to save America and make her great again, he has Ford Motor Company here in America and now has Carrier staying here in America with some of their people...and he hasn’t even taken office yet...
You think that anything that God puts His Hands on is going down in flames, NO that isn’t happening, and it isn’t going to happen...we prayed to God to send us someone to take us out of the pits of hell we are in and He did, He placed His Hands on Donald J. Trump and the American People...God does not fail EVER...

Don’t they understand that they’re opening up a Pandora’s Box for the GOP to list all of the pro-black actions and decisions Sessions has made in the past 30 years?

Then when he starts indicting people (like Clinton) the media can just keep showing people on the stand calling him racist, homophobic, misogynistic etc.

and by this you begin to see how great a warrior against the left Jeff Sessions is.
Sessions is absolutely the ideal candidate. Period, end of subject.
There is an opportunity here and it MUST be taken, seized, grabbed by throat and rammed home.
The Republicans must go into these hearings PREPARED FOR ONCE. PREPARED for pity’s sake.
And NOT TOLERATE specious racism attacks against Sessions. They must have prepared arguments that will DEMOLISH the stupid repetitive sh**head arguments against him that are as certain to be brought up as certain as the sun rises.
That these standard arguments will be brought out is ABSOLUTELY PREDICTABLE and should the Repubs not prepare for them and be ready to meet them with overwhelming force they are IDIOTS.
Trump could allow me dems to nominate every one but Sessions and they’d still fight. He can sail through if he promises not to prosecute the Clintons for any crime.
Time to clean house. Leave no Rat behind.

The Dems changed the rules to disallow filibustering Presidential nominees. The appropriate Senate committees will hold hearings on Trump’s nominees. Each nomination will be voted out of committee with a recommendation to the entire Senate to approve the nominate. Each nomination will be approved 52 to 48 or 51 to 49, or 50 to 50 with Vice President Pence as President of the Senate casting the deciding tie-breaking vote.
I guess the Dingy Harry Dems (like Chris Coons) thought they would control the Senate forever.

Sessions was trashed once years ago by the dems (Kennedy) for a judgeship. Trump won’t let that happen again.
The democrats do not want law and order.
Jeff Sessions should indicate he will investigate Nancy Pelosi and Dianne Feinstein and Barbara Boxer who have made hundreds of millions while in office.
