I think this is why she waited until the last possible minute before transferring the money. She was probably hoping some authority would put the kibosh on the MI and PA recounts and then she could keep her stash. As the clock ticked down, she really had no choice.

That’s a good point. She might have faced fraud claims from all those donors if she collected millions of dollars for recounts in three states and then missed the deadline to make the payment for the first recount.
