settle down, Beavis.
Be grateful it wasn’t Wendy Gramm.
I heard her speak at CAC years ago. She gave one of the very best speeches at the meeting.
This chinese spy business, it could be worse she could be married to a Senator
One more like here and there will be Chaos in the Trump administration.
Thank you.
Thanks!
I was just getting p o ‘d ( not at FR or anyone here), because all media was claiming definitively, in one way or another, that she WAS THE pick and then turn around right there in the article with the opposite....that “sources were reporting”.
This is nothing new. There are no more journalist’s who can properly write anything understandable. Its all tabloid- like.
I realize its all an msm ploy to get the news first, play fake news, confuse people and on and on.
Just infuriated me this particular moment for some reason.
lol
Maybe he should make the same deal with McConnell that Obama did and then he’d get everything he wants without having to hire his family.
Or did that deal with Obama involve K-Y-Jelly?
She did pretty well at the Labor Department, didn’t she?
So, what does this mean? Is she good or bad for Amtrak?
and
What does she know about transportation?
and
It isn't so much transportation knowledge per se, but the skills to craft and push legislation through Congress using her contacts there. It seems that Donald Trump is selecting people with a proven ability to get things done. What accomplishments Elaine Chao has I am not sure of, but dealing with Congress effectively is vital regardless of the department.
and
Flashback!.....Elizabeth Dole same professional bureaucrat also married to a Senator ...spooky
and
She is not of the political grandstanding- dog and pony show John Mica type. What I don't get is she married an old goat like Mitch McConnell. But who knows, she might be Trump's best cabinet pick yet.
and
I doubt Amtrak is at the top of the bucket list, maybe the NEC but nothing else. The FAA gets the biggest slice of that pie, or maybe the 2nd biggest, rail hasnt been atop since the 1950's. Thats why the PTC debackle is 8+ years in the making and nowhere close to being 100%.
and
[To poster of Liddy Dole comment]: ha!

All the talk about "draining the swamp" has to no one's surprise only revealed once again its denizens.

RE: She did pretty well at the Labor Department, didnt she?
I don’t really know, I hardly noticed the department during W.’s tenure.

It’s probably good they didn’t make much news. I would imagine the Labor department would only make news when it’s violating the rights of employers.
