Wisconsin should pay all the vote counters $15.00 an hour (Stein’s preferred minimum wage) rather than a daily stipend. That will up the cost of the recount to about $25 million.
He .05 million estimate may have been correct if she had requested the recount early in the process. The longer she delayed her request the more the cost went up because of the increased resources needed to meet the legal deadline for completion of the process. If nothing else, this should be a good object lesson for those who put things off to the last second.

I will be surprised if she actually comes up with the $3.5 million by 4:30 pm today. Supposedly if she doesn’t write a check she can post a bond. However,no financial institution in its right mind will post a $3.5 million dollar bond if there really isn’t $3.5 million in cash to back it.

Won’t happen. They can’t change the rules post election - if she fails to make the $$$ deadline with payment in full, the recount/challenge is OVER and Trump will be official winner of WI.
If this judge were to give her an extension the judge would violating NOT only WI law, but ask Federal Law. Specifically violting the Safe Harbor Law for elections. A provision of this law forbids states from changing election laws/rules post election and if judge ruled for her extension request they would be changing the rules after the election.
