Key Senate Republicans say they won't support a change to Senate rules that would allow President-elect Trump to quickly get his Supreme Court nominee confirmed, a sign that Trump may find it harder than he was hoping to replace the late Justice Antonin Scalia.

Republican Sens. Pat Roberts of Kansas, Bob Corker of Tennessee, Jeff Flake of Arizona and Lindsey Graham of South Carolina have all said they would not support a change.

I really hate most republicans.
Round up the usual suspects.
Why Trump would consider Corker for anything other than a sharp rebuke is unbelievable.
Fwiw, Corker is meeting with Trump today.
I was thinking of a different animal...Pussies!
The Democrats, under Harry Reid, used the nuclear option against Republicans.
Republicans should use it against the Democrats for *one* Supreme Court pick and publically announce it is payback.
Then resume the filibuster rule.
Flake is such a disappointment.

It gets him out of the Senate.
Yeah, really. If watching Harry Reid did not teach them that the Democrats will do this ten seconds after they regain a majority they are totally delusional.
Mmmm, mmm, mmm. I'll bet that crow will go very nicely with that Navy Bean Soup they are famous for.
Trump hasn’t made his moves yet. So, hold on to your hats.
This is the beginning of the Trump verses the GOPe and Dems. This is their plan to neuter whatever it was that propelled him to a victory. In the states these ass..le senators keep getting reelected, they face no viable alternative as McDame and Google eyes recently demonstrated. I abhor these clowns but it is what it is. Trumps fight is not just limited to the dems, it is an across the swamp horizon....unfortunately when he drains, these fools are on safe ground.
The battle will extend to some of his cabinet positions too I fear. Guiliani, Bolton, Clark have no chance at getting and serious appointments. Obviously Gingrich is out too albeit I don’t think he was actually vying for a position.
Romney unfortunately will be a shoe in.
They only need to enforce a true filibuster. Make them stand up and talk while not carrying on any other business.

What they are saying, in effect, is that they only want “progressives” on the Supreme Court. Flake is running in Arizona in 2018. I want him to be a one term senator. Corker is also up for re-election in 2018 in Tennessee.
Sen. Roberts,
I read with distaste an article in the Washington Examiner that stated you would not support a rule change for the so-called "nuclear option" regarding judicial nominations, including Supreme Court nominations. I fail to see how such comity with the only party to have actually employed the "nuclear option" advances good, limited government. I also fail to see how your apparent unwillingness to fight on behalf of your conservative constituents - a situation that has been noted across the GOP for the last 8-plus years - is a service to anyone but yourself.
The Republican electorate has been crying out for strong advocates in Washington D.C. for the last decade. The Republican party, meanwhile, is seen as being dedicated to subservience to the will of the senate minority. Your opposition to using the tools of power that have already been used against you is foolish, is insulting to conservative voters, and is inexcusable.
Does that mean the media will quit writing stories about how bad it is for our country to have an eight person court?
My initial response would have had me riding the lightning...
It makes one wonder if we should have elected a DEMOCRAT-majority Senate this year.
Didn’t the Democrats say they would “nuke” the “fillibuster”, as soon as they had the chance?
And then, after two more years of suffering from a dis-functional grid-locked, do-nothing Senate, the 2018 election would give Republicans the majority a working Senate where Democrats would not have a non-Constitutional veto over the new laws we need to Make America Great Again.
Instead, it looks like we have to drain the swamp in our so-called “Republican-controlled” Senate.
It looks like we need to start protesting these stupid RINO Senators and it looks like we have to work to “primary them out”, before their next elections.
2019: Al “Diaper” Franken squeaks by giving the Senate 51 `rats, and two independents they caucused with, and to cite an article from seven years ago: a “filibuster-proof majority”.
President Trump: get their GOP-e cuck a**es in line.
