Following this reasoning and these moral standards, the greatest President of the 20th century should have been Jimmy Carter. How did that one work out?

That made zero sense. That logic is completely disconnected.

You cite an approving quote by Ben Shapiro making the claim that Romney is a great choice for SoC because he's a family man, because he never cheated on his wife, and because he never had any finances scandals or improprieties attached to his name.

Following the same specious "logic" by which you and Shapiro defend Romney, Jimmy Carter (who was also a family man who never cheated on his wife and who was never guilty of any unethical conduct in his finances) must have been a great President.

Do you follow now how using someone's status as a family man is utterly irrelevant to discussing his political conduct and likely policies?
