You cite an approving quote by Ben Shapiro making the claim that Romney is a great choice for SoC because he's a family man, because he never cheated on his wife, and because he never had any finances scandals or improprieties attached to his name.

Following the same specious "logic" by which you and Shapiro defend Romney, Jimmy Carter (who was also a family man who never cheated on his wife and who was never guilty of any unethical conduct in his finances) must have been a great President.

Do you follow now how using someone's status as a family man is utterly irrelevant to discussing his political conduct and likely policies?

Neither I nor Ben Shapiro said Romney would be a great choice for SoS. We said he has integrity in response to someone accusing Mitt of not having integrity. You made up all the other stuff... that's why it doesn't make any sense in the context of the conversation.

Mitt came out and publicly proclaimed his opinion of Donald Trump's character. It was his opinion. He has a right to state his opinion just like we all do. I don't agree with Mitt in that, he should never have spoken publicly about his opposition to Trump. It came out as almost an endorsement of Clinton. But, I understand why he had those feelings.

Ann Coulter summed it up, "We're not supporting Trump because of his character. We're supporting him because of his position on the issues. We know he's a ....." That's my personal view of Trump as well. I voted for Trump to stop the left. And the thought of HRC in the white house made me puke. Literally.

If President Trump asks Mitt to serve, he will.
