While Democrats nationwide are licking their wounds and trying to regroup, California liberals are pissed and want nothing to do with the rest of the country.
As the U.S. Government owns 47.7% of the State of California; where will the seceding state acquire the funds to compensate the U.S. Gorvernment at current value for this real estate? The only alternative would appear to be to leave the U.S. Government in possession; imagine the number of border crossings and all the new jobs created for customs officials and ICE.
California should be its own country. But not all of the state...just LA to SF to Berkeley...The other parts are mostly red.
Let them vote to secede . Then have President Trump declare that the state of California is in a state of open armed rebellion & insurrection .
Trump becomes the 2nd Republican President forced to fight a Civil War started by treasonous Democrats. Declare that the govt. of the state of California are traitors issue warrants for there arrest for treason.
Those members of the California state govt. who vote to seccede regardless of party get a scrupulously fair trial & when found guilty a scrupulously fair hanging.
Repeat till you have gone thru all the elective offices in the state & while doing it have the California National Guard federalized backed up by the regular armed forces & other Federal LEO’s maintaining a sundown to sunrise curfew if found out on the street after dark subject to arrest if you resist you may be shot.
After a few months things will calm down .
I am certainly no constitutional scholar.
But IMO because of the grossly unconstitutional overreach by the federal government in nearly every way, which has violated the pact between the federal government and the states, I believe a state can secede [legally].
Good luck. But given all the modern tech and the memories of a Civil War, the feds under Trump are going to make sure that California gets weapons taken away and the military bases scrapped and zero nuclear weapons. Good luck to them with that.
Just getting into the movement. I hope to meet a lot of like minded.
