I’m still recovering from the Nikki Haley appointment.

I KNOW Trump is great and all that, but please LET’S keep our eyes open this time.

they were glued shut during the bush II administration.

I love Trump. He’s my NYC guy. But he is human and needs to be reminded that the RIGHT elected him, in case he strays.

Please hold the attacks. I haven’t said anything bad about the man, except that he is human and every mouth in the political world is chewing on his ear. .

Haley is a useless two-fer. Trump is sending her to an unimportant post that strokes her ego, and the appointment lets him point to a (a not-very-capable, Rino) “woman” having been appointed to an “important post”. In the meantime, Trump has made someone much better than Haley governor of SC. Pretty shrewd. Trump will mainly ignore the UN and perhaps defund it some.

I’m sure others have covered this, but reading other articles and comments, Haley might not be such a bad choice.

She is removed to a position with no real power, so her Lt Gov steps up to replace her.

She is term limited out in 2 years anyway, so this gives her much more conservative Lt a chance to shine and be known to the voters for 2 years and can then still serve another 8.

Broadening the Republicans younger bench, while Democrats are still re-arranging the wheelchairs and IV drip poles on the Titanic

I’ve read a lot today about her. Trump’s position on education is one of the things that attracted me to him in the first place. She says that what started out as a good idea turned into a bureaucratic mess (my summary). She is for school choice and local control of education and that is good. Common core is really up to the states now, but what I see missing from all these discussions is the fact that textbooks are published by a few, mostly liberals, and they are bought by most states. That needs to be addressed.

It’s the UN man! It’s not like they are suddenly going to get stuff done or anything.

Nikki Haley is fine as long as Mittens isn’t the SOS. UN ambassador is a perfect place for an outspoken critic of Trump. Who really cares about the U.N and it will give him some political capital. Also, even close to the election she said she was for Trump (so she’s not a Mittens level of disloyalty. I tend to be ok with people who didn’t support him during the primary). Mittens is the one we need to be worried about
