Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich expressed skepticism Tuesday at reports that former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney was the frontrunner to be President-elect Donald Trump's secretary of state.
"I can think of 20 other people who would be more naturally compatible with the Trump vision of foreign policy," Gingrich told Fox News' "Tucker Carlson Tonight."
...Gingrich added that his preferred choices for secretary of state over Romney included former Arizona Sen. Jon Kyl, former U.N. ambassador John Bolton, former New York City mayor Rudy Giuliani and former Hewlett-Packard CEO and Republican presidential candidate Carly Fiorina.

Me too. Start with the phone book.
AMEN!!!
Just 20?
Gingrich is one of them!!!!
Agreed! Romney is best left retired.
I wish Newtie would get in the mix...somewhere.
I can think of 20 MILLION people who would be better.
Trying to understand t g ed Romney appeal for SOS. Not seeing at all.
Romney is a quitter, he founded ObamaCare, he is a traitor to his party, and he’s directly and personally attacked Trump.
I cannot think of a single good reason for Trump to nominate him.
He has Trump’s ear...
Yeah, I’ve heard that, but I’d like to see him on the stage more, not behind the curtain.
Haha, Newt said Fiorina would be better than Mittens. What a slam.
First my feelings: Yes this would be like a slap in the face.
Second some reasoning:
The pros on choosing Romney. Opportunity to add momentum and further unify the Republican base. Past business experience will aid in negotiations.Likability, intelligent and Charismatic.
Cons:History of changing positions on hot topics for political expediency.Motivation based on self interest.
Demonstrated ill will and the use of false destructive rhetoric towards Trump agenda.
In my opinion Romney will not increase republican unity as much as may be thought. His negotiation skills are not unique to him and can be found in other candidates. The risk of him being a problem outside the administration is a cause for concern imagine what the risk would be with him in the administration. Trump can offer him a lesser role that limits the damage he could do.
I also do not like Bolton he would not be a good Secretary of State as observed while he was working for President Bush
I still see Bob Corker as his best candidate available. He will have broad support now and in the future from his senate colleagues. He has a natural likable personality and negotiating style as someone who can smile and talk positively while the other person behaves irrational or poorly. And you would not have to worry about him caving since his position would be a Trump position. Also he demonstrated he is loyal to the Trump agenda.
I am 100% a Trump supporter, but I don’t think that Romney is a good Sec. of State choice....I like Bolton because I believe that office calls for a no nonsense, very strong person....not Kerry, not Clinton!!!!
Only 20?
Is Newt slipping or just being kind?
To me this would be way to high a price for Trump pay simply to make peace with the Mormon contingent.
I’m beginning to think Trump hauled Romney to Bedminster just to humiliate him. Make him pay respects and then float the SoS and then shiv him in the press. Newt is the attack dog on this and the Romney for SoS will be done in the next few days.
Striking resemblance to Charles Krauthammer.
