At first blush, Donald Trump’s decision to swear off criminal investigations of Hillary Clinton didn’t look like a good idea.
At second blush, it looks like a terrible idea.
The decision, dribbled out in a TV report and then confirmed by aide Kellyanne Conway, is too momentous to come in bits and pieces and from anyone other than Trump directly. He made the pledge at a debate to appoint a special prosecutor, and it smacks of Washington-as-usual for the reversal to slither out the back door.
Yet instead of the president-elect personally explaining his big decision, the public got snippets of comments he made during an interview with the New York Times.
“I don’t want to hurt the Clintons, I really don’t,” the paper quoted him as saying. “She went through a lot and suffered greatly in many different ways.”
Asked whether he had ruled out a prosecution, he reportedly said, “It’s just not something that I feel very strongly about.”

Ummm, we have a congress... AND an FBI, and a Department of Justice...
It’s no more complicated than that. We either live under the Rule of Law, or not.

That being said, Trump is a very capable, adept and clever man. He didn't say he wasn't going to go after her. He just said he would not push for prosecution. He's a deal-maker and a negotiator by skill and trade. He's left plenty of weasel room with that statement to still have the FBI and DOJ pursue her if they find something nefarious in talking to her underlings. Besides, Congress is investigating and will not drop this.
Trump is just being sly. Like a fox. But when he's ready, he will come out roaring like a lion. Give him time to do what we elected him to do. It's only been two weeks and people all over the place are already calling him a failure. Yeah, right.
This hilLIARy thing is not over because of one comment made by Trump. Be patient.
Oh yes.
Anyone asking him this is media right now his supporters know she’s done. They’re so happy to not have to see her name in headlines and her face on tv. That voice!!
They don’t care. But Hillary supporters want this so tgey can love to hate Trump even more
Or his new doj/fbi may have diferent plans.
