Donald Trump’s media summit was a ‘ f—ing firing squad’
NY Post ^ | November 21, 2016 | Emily Smith and Daniel Halper

President-elect Donald Trump exploded at media bigs in an off-the-record Trump Tower powow on Monday, sources told The Post.

“It was like a f—ing firing squad,” said one source.

“Trump started with Jeff Zucker and said I hate your network, everyone at CNN is a liar and you should be ashamed….

“The meeting was a total disaster. The TV execs and anchors went in there thinking they would be discussing the access they would get to the Trump administration, but instead they got a Trump-style dressing down,” the source added.

A second source confirmed the encounter.

“The meeting took place in a big board room and there were about 30 or 40 people, including the big news anchors from all the networks…,” the source said.

“Trump kept saying, ‘We’re in a room of liars, the deceitful dishonest media who got it all wrong. He addressed everyone in the room calling the media dishonest, deceitful liars. He called out Jeff Zucker by name and said everyone at CNN was a liar, and CNN was network of liars.

“Trump didn’t say Katy Tur by name, but talked about an NBC female correspondent who got it wrong, then he referred to a horrible network correspondent who cried when Hillary lost who hosted a debate – which was Martha Raddatz who was also in the room.

The media is not something to be owned by Presidents.

Media is supposed to be independent of all outside forces.

This media perverts journalism and is a free propaganda arm of the socialist movement.

Wake the hell up.

This had the makings of one of the old James Bond films. The villain calls a meeting of big shots at his place, then disposes of them. Trump’s no villain, though, and the media big shots were able to leave.

And LIES! :-)

And trying to corrupt an election.

Trump did a preemptive attack; he KNOWS that once he takes the Oath of Office, the MSM will continue to try to destroy him and his presidency.

Freedom of the press is not synonymous with abuse by the press. When they undermine national security and foment the type of violence that gets LEO all over America killed, it is time to pull rank on their sorry asses.

Liberals have a monopoly on freedom of speech, at least the sort of speech that matters in modern America. Nowadays, the vast majority of the public gets its information from the Network News corporations.

These network news services represent the only means by which a message can get out to the public. The very point of "freedom of speech" as guaranteed in our constitution is to allow dissenting voices to all be heard by the public so that the public can weigh them and come to a decision as to which side they agree with.

Liberals, by taking over complete control of all broadcast systems, have effectively created a monopoly on the speech that matters, and they use this monopoly to censor conservative opinion or news stories that do not support their political preferences.

They have effectively short circuited the process for which "Freedom of Speech" and "Freedom of the Press" was created. Technology has allowed them to undermine the system and prevent it from working as originally intended.

If there is any truth to this, then this will go down as the second most awesome day of 2016 — after Election Day, of course. LMAO.

Pull the FCC licenses of lying news organizations. They can criticize all they want but lies in a news report to affect a political outcome in a non-editorial broadcast should cause them to lose their broadcast licenses.

I agree with this avenue of attack. We should do this and other things as well.

It in fact did happen. And as a network you do not want the full eroght of the US government to come down on you.

"I personally thing we need to use the force of law to make the media hire conservatives."

I don't. After doing my due diligence research, I know that the Founding Fathers' 1st Amendment was explicitly to protect political discourse, no matter how adverse it was to their principles, with exceptions about fire in a theater and other unrelated nonsense . That is why I never agreed with the "Fairness Doctrine" and still don't.

I don't know how to make the MSM more fair, but it's not through coercion or force. That is against everything I stand for as Constitutional advocate. I believe anyone can stand on a box, use a media outlet, peacefully assemble and say things I don't agree with. That said, slander, libel, sedition, and threats to persons are not included. There are criminal statutes and civil litigation for that.

Personally, I hope Trump did dress down those lying, embellishing, omitting, slanting, biased, manipulative prima donnas. It's been a long time coming. Just don't believe it happened as the "two" sources say.

“Using the prestige of high elected office to call a meeting of journalists for the purpose of intimidation would be extraordinary and unprecedented in this nation.”

You need to read up on American history. Lincoln had some reporters jailed for opposing him.

[No PBS? Interesting] Why dress down PBS when the network may be on the chopping block?

Or after trimming back, fashioned into a direct source for the White House to control the information that is released to the public. PBS News Hour is in for a huge shake up next year, is my guess and hope.

EWTN. Just because it's Catholic doesn't mean it isn't conservative.

Trump needs to adjust his fire a bit.. He is bracketing the target but not getting direct hits. They are liars but why? They are leftist propagandists and their agitprop is on purpose.

A theory I have just developed over the last few months is that the Media is liberal because Liberal policies suit the interests of their masters who make so much money through liberal policies which are in place in the Federal government.

Back in 1995, I couldn't understand why anyone would be against a balanced budget. Now I get it. They want the spending fountain in Washington D.C. to continue, and the more money Washington spends, the better for the interest groups associated with them.

They are liberal because it greases the right palms for them to be liberal. The Washington/Boston power corridor owns them, and wants liberal spending policies to continue.
