Green Day took the stage Sunday evening at the American Music Awards and broke into an anti-Trump chant during their performance in Los Angeles.
In the middle of their hit song "Band Bang," jumped into "Born To Die 2016" by punk band MDC. Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong led a chant with the words, "No Trump, no KKK, no fascist USA."
The song has recently been popularized by students across the U.S.

Never understood the attraction to Green Day. Never liked their music, and this makes me like it that much less!
Ever notice that as the hits become fewer and fewer, music acts must rely on liberal outbursts to garner favor and coverage from the press??
If Bruce Springsteen kept his politics quiet he would get almost zero press coverage.

btw I won’t by anything produced by these folks records...movies...whatever the product is....I don’t watch 49er football because of Kapernic which means i don’t see the ads...Ad revenues drop enough this crap will stop or the billionaire NFL owners will lose money...

I think their music is pretty good if you like the post-punk pop genre. As for their politics, it’s pretty much what I would expect from a bunch of Gen-Xers from Berkeley. Shut up and sing.
They should write marching chant lyrics for all the melting snowflakes out there.

Try listening to “The Hives”. They’re a Swedish punk band, but they refuse to take themselves seriously. Better music, less pontificating.
