Never understood the attraction to Green Day. Never liked their music, and this makes me like it that much less!
I think their music is pretty good if you like the post-punk pop genre. As for their politics, it’s pretty much what I would expect from a bunch of Gen-Xers from Berkeley. Shut up and sing.
Try listening to “The Hives”. They’re a Swedish punk band, but they refuse to take themselves seriously. Better music, less pontificating.

Green Day did some good songs: Wake Me Up When September Ends; Boulevard Of Broken Dreams; Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life,) they’re actually quite good, albeit their politics suck.
