Mike Pence Went To See 'Hamilton' And Got Booed (Shameful Gay Lead Scolds Pence)

Nov. 18, 2016 A view of Vice President-elect Mike Pence and staffers settling in for a performance of "Hamilton." Vice President-elect Mike Pence went to see a performance of the musical, "Hamilton" Friday night and was promptly booed by the crowd after entering the theatre in New York, according to multiple reports on social media.

Actually....he should say this:

“The story of Alexander Hamilton, brought to life for our generation by the brilliant Lin-Manual Miranda, is a timeless story of hard work, courage, faith and perseverance...and the consequence of choices both good and bad.

It is the heroic story of the founding, and our founders. It reminds us of the heroic sacrifice that they made so long ago. It reminds us that these flesh and blood human beings gave everything so that we might enjoy the blessing of freedom.

Moreover, the story of Eliza Hamilton, the greatest woman of our founding era, is an incredible story of strength, hard work, faith and ultimately forgiveness...and a forgiveness which only comes from Christ.

I am grateful that the story of Hamilton has been made so accessible to contemporary audiences. And I’m glad I saw this show.”

THAT is what he should say...rising above the jackasses in the audience.

Just a thought.... :)

Agree. Pence knew ahead of time. Plus, New York City is generally not friendly territory for Conservatives.

What all of the booers don't know is that Donald Trump and Mike Pence will make this country stronger and safer for them and their families. I pray the effects of their policies are quickly felt by the many millions of people who have been so negatively affected by Obama’s damage to the country.

Won’t shell out my hard earned retirement to watch a bunch of prancing faggies scold the audience. F*** Broadway and f*** NYC!

The new VP may have intended to provoke homosexual intolerance for all the world to see. But if I want to learn more about Alexander Hamilton, I’ll study serious biographies, not this greasepaint garbage.

I remember a drawing in the New Yorker about 30 years ago. A woman is reading from the newspaper to her husband: “’A delicious evening of pure theater.’ Ugh!”

This was basically a temper tantrum by a minority of twisted freaks in their community who are angry, not because they cannot pursue the lifestyle they seek, but because they cannot inflict and force it upon Christians who do not want to participate in their self destructive behavior.

That is the true takeaway here.

And it's over. Christians will not be compelled to participate in activity that they consider anathema.

So some 2% of the population is gay. We can work with that and with them. There are many highly intelligent, reasonable voices out there we engage with and be productive together to create an environment that enhances personal freedom while protecting individual rights and securing the whole of society from persecution.

However the people who want to force Christians to abandon their faith and endorse and support said behavior, then participate? That is openly hostile and cannot not be tolerated. That plus it only feeds the divide between the communities making dialogue and resolution nearly impossible. It is the voice of the beast seeking to set the communities against one another as opposed to standing united with understanding and the ability to build a better work together.

I’m sure he’ll get over it - and he probably won’t even need to retreat to his safe space...

Well
The story I read is THE CAST also saw fit to lecture Vice President Elect Pence and his wife

Is that not true?
If it is, do you STILL praise it/them

I read an article that quoted the statement which was read from the stage at the end of the show...much of it was just thanking him for being there, and was appropriate. It did say something about how they hope he protects the diversity of America that they love, blah, blah. I didn’t hear a recording of the delivery...but the printed words didn’t come across to me as a lecture so much.

I doubt if Pence took it that way.

Yes, the MOST appropriate thing would have been simply to thank him for being there, and call it good.

But they ARE afraid...because when it comes to politics, these people and about half the audience....are simply mentally ill. It is ridiculous that they are afraid but we know from countless sources that they are terrified. So I think given all of that...and what I took from their printed words, I didn’t think their statement was that bad.

And yes, I would praise them for their art and their service ultimately to the American cause regardless...they have brought the Founders to life like no one has done in our lifetime. That is praiseworthy by itself, in my opinion.

Would that the artists were as gracious to us as many of us are to them. But alas being a conservative is often a lonely walk, as all of us here at FR know.... :)

Word is Pence had already departed when the cast came out and made their statement.

That makes sense...it is a very crowded venue, and from a security perspective, he would need to scoot when the show was over.

Alternatively.....how’s about a takeover?

Remember: Steve Bannon made a pretty good career in a very tough business, media/TV/film before Breitbart.

Wouldn’t it be better if we created a “safe space” as it were in Broadway where creative/patriotic/Christian types could also openly participate without harassment? We would all be better off......

Maybe that’s just a dream. But with Trump going to make America great again, and with us little deplorables now speaking up....anything is possible!

(Just a tidbit...Les Mis is showing in the theater next to Hamilton....I bet Pence smiled when he saw that and hummed a little tune as he passed by.... :))
