President-elect Donald Trump will tap Sen. Jeff Sessions to be his Attorney General, according to Bloomberg News and the New York Times.
Sessions, the first U.S. Senator to endorse Trump, was rumored for a number of positions in Trumps cabinet, including Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense but it appears that the former Attorney General of Alabama has been selected for the highest law and order position in the administration.
Sen. Ted Cruz was also rumored for the position after he was spotted at Trump Tower, meeting with the president elect.
The official announcement from Trumps transition team is expected later today.
In addition, Rep. Mike Pompeo has been selected by Trump as CIA director ...

And as for sizing people up - again, you dont get to be a multibillionaire owner of a global empire by NOT knowing how to size people up
You don't get it. I've been paid to size people up. I've supported Trump since the day he announced on 6/16/2015 which I documented. I hope this helps.
Gezzz...You're wrong again here. Fact is the SOB acted like an ass AFTER the primary was over and Trump was the nominee, when Mr. Cruz decided not to endorse Trump at the convention.
Get it?
Yes, if all our representatives and senators had the character of my reps, Rep. Gary Palmer, and Senator Jeff Sessions, this country would be a well oiled machine!! We have a few good other ones here, like Mo Brooks in Huntsville.
Never a need to call them to vote the right way, they just do what is right!
Only concern is who the rino gov will appoint to replace Senator Sessions. Unfortunate that it won’t be Palmer. Maybe we can hope for Brooks. He is the guy who schooled that reporter a few years back when she asked if he had a degree in Economics or something. His response was something like, “as a matter of fact, I do have a degree in Economics”. I have met Mo. Great guy who understands that being a Representive is about being a servant to govern, not about being a king to rule.
Time will tell
Gov is a rino. Conservatives are not pleased with him. Let’s hope and pray he is not “spiteful”.
Roby okay; Strange good; do not know about Pittman; NO to Ward
Did not know that about Roby. I agree about Brooks. I think he is the best option. Either he or Palmer would be best, but Palmer is new to the House. He ran the API prior to that.
Then stay bitter.
Cruz and Ryan — pond scum.
Hoping for KT McFarland, too.
I was hoping Ted Cruz was tapped for this position. The next best choice is definitely Jeff Sessions.
Wow! That’s one helluva list! Thank heaven the adults will be in charge in a few weeks!.
“The dems will try to destroy Sessions in the confirmation hearings. Hes a racist”
The fact that Byrd actually WAS a member of the KKK goes over their empty little heads.
It was a gutsy move when Trump put up his list of candidates for SCOTUS. If even one of them could be proved to be a clinker, it would have hurt the campaign. As it was, it proved to be a positive because the voters he was courting got a warm fuzzy from it.That means that :
- naming someone on the list is a campaign promise, and failing to do so would be an unforced error. And,
- opposing a nominee from that list is a problem for Democrats who are accustomed to claiming that anyone to the right of Barak Obama is out of the mainstream. Well, guess what! The list, which the voting public knew about, and which the Democrats coulda, woulda, shoulda attacked during the campaign, is now officially the mainstream.
Have you any idea how ridiculous that sounds? He hasn’t even taken office yet let alone made a cosequential decision.
Sound like a groupie.
Can’t disagree with any of that. Well said.
Great memory! Thanks. Still, extremely rare
Absolutely right! I remember that case...but, as you say, it’s rare.
“4. This was an act between them 2 all along.”
I’d considered that also, however, Mrs. Cruz is rooted in Goldman-Sachs, so Teddy is sleeping with the enemy.
IIRC - Teddy said some out-of-bound things about Melania.
I think it’s more a case of “keep your enemies closer” - same with Mittens.
