President-elect Donald Trump will tap Sen. Jeff Sessions to be his Attorney General, according to Bloomberg News and the New York Times.
Sessions, the first U.S. Senator to endorse Trump, was rumored for a number of positions in Trump’s cabinet, including Department of Homeland Security and Department of Defense but it appears that the former Attorney General of Alabama has been selected for the highest law and order position in the administration.
Sen. Ted Cruz was also rumored for the position after he was spotted at Trump Tower, meeting with the president elect.
The official announcement from Trump’s transition team is expected later today.
In addition, Rep. Mike Pompeo has been selected by Trump as CIA director ...

The dems will try to destroy Sessions in the confirmation hearings. He’s a racist, he said the NAACP is un-American, he’s said the ACLU is un-American. 30 years ago he said the N word, blah, blah, blah. If it works, and put nothing past the slimeball democrats, Trey Gowdy’s in the bullpen.
Corker, another let’s-go-to-war-with-Russia guy, is being leaked as Secretary of Defense.
He was also being leaked as a VP candidate which wasn’t true at all.

Thanks for making my point. IIRC, Congress has the power to hold witnesses in "contempt" and has a Sergent-At-Arms who can arrest and detain such persons. It never happens because the career politicians realize if they lost their majority power they could be on the receiving end.
Yes, I know that some have been held in Contempt of Congress which amounted to no penalization (think Hellary's proven lies). Congress is an empty shell of what it once was. Maybe under Trump's influence they will find their balls. Doubt it.

You damn right and I would love to see Judge Roy Moore nominated to the US Supreme Court. Dems would try tooth and nail to kill his nomination, but at least President Trump would have had the courage to nominate the great man.
