If you are arguing that al qaeda is too moral to violate the immunity that hospitals sre supposed to have in time of war, then I would remind you of their habit of randomly terrorizing/murdering entirely innocent groups of people.

No, I think al Qaeda is immoral, but the main enemy in Syria and Iraq today is ISIS or ISIL. They’re equally evil. However, Putin’s tendency to kill without regard for the lives of innocent civilians makes him a war criminal. He is likely in the long run a more serious threat to our way of life than these terrorists, who now probably number less than 20,000 in both countries. When choosing between two evils, I choose neither.

Our leader has not been targeting alqaeda, ISIS, ISIL, radical islam throughout this exercise. They have been targeting Assad, and Assad is a longtime supporter of Russia’s naval base at Tartus which has been there since 1971.
In the meantime, Saudi Arabia wants Assad removed for reason of Saudi’s own economic interests.

It has seemed that the US is a client state of Saudi Arabia.

Ad hominem — you are better than that.

You’ve been on FR almost as long as I have.

I don’t think it was ad hominem. I get the impressione that you concur with Putin’s worldview and objectives. If so, shout it out. Putin’s neo-imperialism is dangerous to me, but not everyone agrees.

But the question is why does Flynn, or why did Flynn have his company work for this Islamist autocrat? I’d say it was money. And why does Flynn have his company work as apologists for Putin? I suspect that after all of the abstruse disputations it’s the same.

Putin has never bothered me as much as Obama has, as the king of Saudi Arabia has, nor as much as France has, to be frank.

Believe it or not, there is space between support of Putin and non-support of Putin. It’s called strength and clarity.

France and the King of Saudi Arabia do not threaten NATO, neutral countries in Europe, or American support for free nations and people. If you’ve an open mind and you watch things closely, you’ll get it.

Nuclear weapons, nuclear submarines, incursions into neutral nations with planes and submarines...none of them by France or Saudi Arabia. Aspirations for restoration of a neo-Russian empire, revanchism, was not and was never a threat emanating from France or Saudi Arabia. It was Putin who said that the collapse of the Soviet Empire was the worst thing that happened in the 20th Century. I don’t know about you, but I think a few other things were much, much worse than the end of Soviet domination of Eastern Europe, communism, the GULAG, and the end of Putin’s beloved KGB. I know many people think Putin’s swell. I understand he didn’t like Obama so that made him a neat guy. But I think he’s an evils son of a bitch. And, I hope, Trump and his staff rejects this man and his goals of dominating weak European nations. NATO with all its faults has won the Cold War and been a very successful alliance. America first means American interest before Putin’s.

He has had to agree to seperate himself from the company as one or more employees are lobbyists and Trump wont allow that. No idea why Erdogan or Putin are considered allied by his company. Flynn is calling for the extradition of Gulen which would indeed appear to be a death sentence for Gulen upon his arrival in Turkey.

What will be done with the 150 Gulen Charter schools in our country if Gulen leaves? Edrogan says Gulens FETO is terrorist so I assume his schools and Turkish "teachers" would also be extradited .

This will be interesting to watch.
