Barack Obama has revealed his plan to rebuild the Democratic party and mold its new leader after he leaves the White House.
In an in-depth interview with The New Yorker on Thursday, the President told how he would help his successor Donald Trump settle in to the role before vacating it.
Once out of office, he hopes to dedicate himself to training and advising a new wave of politicians, the next 'Michelle and Barack... who right now is sitting out there'.

It’s funny—as King Lear put it, “ A dog’s obeyed in office,” i.e., almost anyone will receive a certain amount of respect while he sits in the seat of authority. The aura of authority surrounds him and masks his defects. But the converse is also true: when that “dog” leaves office, we see how mangy it is.
A few days back, much was made of the body language showed by Obama and Trump during their photop. One body language “expert” interpreted Trump’s hand posture as indicating he had learned something during his talk with Obama that frightened him. Now, I don’t put much stock in the body-language “experts,” but I wondered if Trump wasn’t horrified that—up close and personal—Obama is a tinny nothing, a superficial huckster, a man of almost no substance once he steps off the campaign trail. (The way Trump held his hands, BTW, seems to be his default posture; he showed it during the 60 minutes’ interview and the 21 Club dinner).
You can say a lot of things about Trump. His vices and virtues are both larger than life. He is, however, indisputably a man of substance and accomplishment. He values true excellence. I imagine that he was disconcerted that a man like Barry Obama, who probably wouldn’t have made the first cut on any season of the Apprentice, was actually elected President of the United States.
Yeah, pretty much. The America of c. 1964 has pretty much migrated to the Republican Party as far as the electorate is concerned. The dems are pretty much composed of globalist and racial demogoges and foreign invaders now.

Yes, I’d agree that Trump’s meeting with Barry probably illuminated everything he (and we) suspected of Barry. He probably thought to himself “Oh...my...God!”
